I got off DMB and checked out Shea Diamond instead. She's a trans musician and once she drops an album, I'm buying it.

Great song. My favorite version from the lady of punk herself.

I'd kill to have Excene sing harmony on this.

****, that’s Good too. I need to familiarize myself more with Siouxie’s catalog.

Tyr is from the Faroe Islands and doesn't get over here often so that was great to see too.

And now I'm remembering that I'm 40 and shouldn't go out on week nights.
I'm afraid of that. Upcoming shows I'm likely headed to are on a Monday (Ghost is playing at the DCU) and Thursday (Tool at the Garden). While not 40 quite yet, the hubs is 40+ and neither of us can hang like we used to Hoping to actually get to Ghost as the hubs would rather see Hannah Hart in Boston. He's not wild about Ghost and I like Hannah Hart, but don't feel the need to see her live - of course, neither of us wants to make the drive to either place alone...

I definitely have upped my vinyl buying in the last few years, but the only CDs I buy are from small bands I see live (and that isn't very often anymore )

LOVE HER!! Saw her last year (2 years ago?) in concert from the 2nd row. Her music is amazing and she's gorgeous. One of those times where I can't decide if I want to be her or be with her.

I like DMB when driving on a stretch of empty road with the windows down and no plans for the day. I listen to them a lot in the summer and rarely at all the rest of the year.

ETA - not sure what thread this would go in, but it makes as much sense as any to put it here.
I have really gotten into collecting concert posters. There seems to be a renewed interest in making them awesome (and for each show, rather than a whole tour). While I can't stand the Dead and their fans, they were definitely on to something with the artwork for the band. In the last 6 months, I have purchased 15 posters and now am trying to figure out how to hang them. If it's something you're interested in, I definitely recommend Luke Martin (Baltimore based - goes by Suburban Avenger), Emek, Brad Klausen, and the artists in the F4D stable. Bands that I've bought include: Van Morrison, DMB, Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, Death Cab, and OAR.

Siouxie’s more obscure songs are even better than her well-known ones. She is a lot like Wire -- at first it's off-putting but once you fall into it it's pure beauty and genius. I think she's, arguably, the most important vocalist in rock history. Not to mention one helluva woman.

Speaking of obscure songs by popular groups, one of my favorite rare B-52s songs. Cindy Wilson slays me.

Skipped class to get the Vitalogy vinyl. My roommates and I listened intently for hours while we kept playing it over and over that night.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

More Siouxsie. I don't like this arrangement*, and this time her theatrics are just a distraction from a song best done bare and stark (if not actually on heroin), but my god can she sing.

                              * Except that last tiny bit of choreographic homage to Iggy, which is funny and delightful. Great fact: Iggy has the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the government of France.
