That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

For those who know me, I'm skinny as f*. Part of it is metabolism. The other part is that I'm on my feet 8 hours a day, lifting boxes onto pallets. Been doing that for close to 25 years now. I actually get my exercise during the week.

Kep: as far as veggies, I'm picky on those also. Stick with the everyday bland things like green beans, corn, etc. I have expanded to zucchini in a Mediterranean stir fry, and I do like cooked cauliflower. Broccoli in a fettuccine Alfredo, but that is cancelling out any benefit there.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Fettuccine Alfredo isn't too bad as long as you don't totally overdo it on noodles and the meat is relatively lean. You can also modify the sauce with leaner cream etc. And having broccoli really helps because it has a ton of fiber.

I really wish I could get behind almond milk. It’s just TERRIBLE for the environment. I remember reading something like one almond tales about 25 gallons of water to produce. It’s one of the most water-intense crops in North America (world?) in an area that is struggling with water shortages.

The 25 figure might be bulls-hit but I know they’re water hogs. And yes I know cows aren’t much better.

Edit: yes it was BS. But it’s not good. An almond takes 1.1ish gallons. A gallon of almond milk takes 920 gallons.

I get the impression it’s very similar to diet soda, mostly water with some chemicals mixed in. In the last couple months I’ve switched over to oat milk and think it’s the way to go. It’s better for the environment and even though it has more calories I think it’s healthier. Taste wise I don’t really have much of a preference between the two.

That breakfast burrito is a bold step, though. I like it.

If you ate the burrito and added grilled chicken to the Caesar salad (or went somewhere where that's an option), and cut out the other useless stuff, you'd be a lot closer to your goal and likely not much worse for the wear.

What are the lunch options where you are? Do you have the typical chains nearby or is it really limited?

                            300. I mistook the calories of only the cheese. :-) I assume there is also butter and the bread.

I have yet to find a really good calories counting site so if the store/restaurant doesn't offer it I try to find a best match.
