I am not surprised. Bowling Green is a bubble team and the league probably wants to help them get in tournament. The Northern fans may share your opinion after next weekend.

Yes, they all review video Saturday morning. Im sure they do the same for Saturday games. Mr. Shepard works with them all throughout the week. The league also sends guys to games for review in person, such as Shepard or a retired official.

The non-calls last night were not as one-sided as everyone is making it seem. There were plenty of muggings to go around that weren't called and there were co-incidentals called that left everyone shaking their heads.

Lastly, you can't pin giving up 3 goals in 106 seconds all on the refs.

The sun will rise out of the east, politicians will lie, people will claim polls don’t matter then spend hours debating them, and fans will claim all referees hate their team.

When two are PPG's after two shaky penalty calls, you can make a case for a large portion of that pinning.

McDonald's flop was comically bad, almost soccer worthy. For a team that's supposed to be so "tough", BG does a lot of play acting.

How are two obvious slashes a shaky penalty call? Poor discipline on Russell cost you that penalty, not the officials.

Always good to remember most of these officials have full time jobs outside of spending their weekends officiating WCHA games..

Didn't the WCHA make pay cuts for officials this year as well?

Believe it or not, I have also always tried not to go after the officials, but the Polglaze 5:00 was hardly even a boarding, the BG player turned, and took a check on the side.
So in all generosity, a 2:00 boarding. As has happened all year with the "major review" the refs take so long to review and 90% of the time make the wrong call after reviewing the video.

The officiating is NOT fine, it's a complete and total embarrassment to the league.

I agree. Yes, refs make bad calls. Yes, it happens to everyone. We all expect perfection from refs and when judgement is required, one side is going to think its a bad call and one side is going to think its a good call. The expectations are unrealistic from too many people. Reffing can always be better because mistakes are inevitable, but its pretty good for the most part.

Bemidji should be upset to. Awful dive by Lake State player. Game winning goal was scored on that power play in the third period.

It was an obvious tripping call. The defensive player was beat and hooked the Laker player’s skate entering the zone full speed.

That being said, Ive seen the offensive player also get an embellishment call in similar situations earlier this season so you make a good point.

That was a well officiated series. Game flow was great and there weren’t that many penalties called or missed. That is how a hockey game should be.

Yes, should have still been tripping with embellishment based on similar situations as you said, which would have lead to 4x4. Overall they were good in the Sault this weekend.

I was surprised they overturned that LSSU goal from a non-goal to a goal. The ref seemed pretty adamant when he waived it off.
