Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

No. I are aware Reverse Woofing has even more serious penalties than Woofing.
Simple clear-eyed observation. Sometimes my Mets are good. This is not one of those times. Even now we can steal a game now and then with deGrom or Thor on the mound. They do not appear in this series. And sometimes we can even beat a total sh-t team with our back end starters. But the Twins are a top 5 team. We are going to lose and it is well within the realm of possibility that it could become really ugly.
Did you know the Mets are on track to have the worst bullpen by ERA in The History of Major League Baseball? That's 150 years. The last time I checked, our pen ERA was a tic below 6.00. Roll that around in your mouth for a while and see how it feels. And now add that the Mets' team defense is the worst in the National League so the total runs our pen has yielded are well over 6 per 9.
We also give up lots of homeruns. Did you know the Twins are on track to hit the most team homeruns in The History of Major League Baseball? Comfortably?
The way the Twins have been playing the last 3 weeks, they cant overlook anyone.
They were 18-15 since June 1 leading into the CLE series. Of more recent play they won 5/9 vs. TB/OAK/TEX with all 3 teams .532 or better. Not world beaters but let's not play woe is me.

Did I read correctly the other day that the Mets have already broken the MLB record for most blown saves in a season ... halfway through this season?

Bad things, man. Bad. Things.
The Gods of Baseball will now decree the first legitimate no hitter in Mets history.

Fitting, since we got our fake one from the Twins' Santana.
But in Soviet Metsia... presumptive starter Zack Wheeler (and our only player for whom we could get a decent fire sale return) has just been placed on the injured list.

I have not seen that. We did have that spectacular recent streak with something like 7 in 2 weeks including 3 straight that all played out exactly the same way against the same opponent.
Edit: We currently have 21. The ML record is the 1996 Colorado Rockies with 39. Believe it or not we are not on pace (36.6) to beat it.

The thing is, you can’t be that bad if a record like that is in jeopardy. It means you’re still competitive. The Tigers have only used their closer three times in July.
Go Green! Go White! Go State!

That's an interesting paradox.
So, the Mets need to suck more so they don't break a record of suckage.

We're about the only country whose pro athletes are not walking billboards. The day is coming when there will be "Fly Emirates" on the front of the pinstripes.
