Mookie took Tyler up for a tourney BU played. Lost both games and missed our first flight, but was a treat with all the connections. Neat place. Went to a course to try and play bit they closed (and there was No snow to be seen

    Fun time.

The commissioner tried to tell everyone that the conference would still have the same financial success, but DU and UND did not buy it, correctly so in my opinion.
IMO, yes and no. Revenue was the driving reason. But I think there was also a feeling of, "they get their own conference, we want one, too!" Sort of a Little Brother Syndrome, since UND's and DU's hockey teams are basically the face for the 4 Big Sports in America.

Does Alaska want to split up again, or do most of the people there prefer being in the same conference?

Will both Alaska teams even be around in five years?

            Yes
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

It's on my bucket list to watch Tech play in both Anchorage and Fairbanks.

NCHC is pretty much old WCHA. 6 of 8 teams are former WCHA.

Alaska was one of the best road trips I’ve ever been on. We are hoping to return in the next year or two here.

MTU is better off in the nWCHA than the old WCHA. Not being in the same conference as the other UP schools was a joke. Good riddance to the Colorado schools and North Dakota. MTU now plays comparatively sized, closer schools and has a regular, yearly plus .500 record. They got crushed by far away schools in the old days.

MTU should have stayed in the CCHA. Moot point now, thank God.

You can roll your eyes, but there have been rumors of one folding for a couple years now. They are not in good shape like they were seven years ago.

MTU is better off because they have a better team. The JR era teams would suck in the nWCHA too.

I agree it is nice to be in the same league as the Marquette Teachers College and Tech Jr. for the UP rivalries, but I prefered the later start times when they played the western teams.

I was thinking more TW. All the students want is to see is them win against anybody. They would have gotten more wins in old CCHA than old WCHA. Old WCHA was NCHC. When attendance is down, recruiting gets harder, that's the downward spiral.

Both AK schools in one conference works better. Play both schools on the same trip.
