and no sooner than i finished typing last post, it’s 1-2 PC. Their offense been clicking last several wknds. 6 odd left.
still getting outshot a lot to a little, but all tied up on the scoreboard. Last stanza. 10 odd mins left in regulation. hold fort, Huskies.

NU with extra attacker & pp goal late, to make it 2-3, May run out of time.
Back at it tomorrow.
Still stuck in that two goals per game rut. FWIW, Tyler Madden (7) accounts for more than a quarter (28%) of all goals scored so far (25). So it would appear that distributed goal scoring gets tacked onto the already troublesome goal scoring drought.

this season is going to be lots of learning. hopefully some character building. There will be some tough setbacks, some pleasant victories. That kind of year.
The character is there. No problem. So is a pretty fair defense. However they could begin by learning how to win the board battles and learning what to do with the puck when they do win them. Also, they must learn that there are no style points awarded. Instead of taking the puck into the corner and behind the net, the boys might learn to fire it low at the net. The and deflections and rebounds can cause chaos and cause positioning problems for the goaltenders. Lastly, the must learn and remember that league games lost in the fall have a way of sneaking up and biting a team in the butt come playoff time
playing with an edge thus far..
and playing smart (no sloppy penalties).
Not giving the Friars much at all. Lots of good chances & scoring. Hold fort 60 mins. Go NU
okay, so we up by 3 goals & take a silly penalty( why would one do that when up by 3) ... no idea, but Friars make us pay. That is something the team can not afford to keep doing (and expect to win).
win or lose, great to see the offense clicking.
especially nice to see 2 freshmen get their first.
way to go. now pls let’s just finish smart.
Go Huskies![]()
This is crazy.. refs may have missed 1 odd ‘too many men’ call on us in the 2nd.. every call going against us in the 3rd.. just minor questionable stuff ... everything being called against the Huskies. Might as well hand the gm to PC.
Just call it both ways refs! Let the teams play & keep the whistle for the egregious stuff. now only up 5-3
Go NU!
NU finally playing smart last 5 mins of 3rd.. getting pucks deep, not trying to score, playing clean... not giving the refs or PC anything.
and no sooner as I type, PC pulls G. & Huskies with empty netter.
Nicely done!
Alright, alright alright ...PC you're going learn something today. Two empty netters made it 7 to 3! When we gave up the early goal, a bad tickler, I was worried for about 2 mins a minute until we tied it up on a really pretty goal. O was clicking for the 1st time this season. Far and away their best game this season. They were flying and cycling like it was 2017 all over again. Overall, a great team effort, lots of missed calls and a couple of strange goals though! Worst part was the walk in the freezing cold back to the parking lot, but 2 points and a statement against a very good PC team !

glad the nxt series not up in orono this yr as blackbears are undefeated at home. however they are 2-3-1 on the road.
not saying going to be easy as they have excellent goaltending and have found offense & finding ways to win all yr (including ot win last night); just glad we get couple back to back at matthews.
hopefully with good week at practice & building off strong win, give maine a good series nxt wknd. no sloppy penalties & let's plug away, get better with the 5x5 & sharpen that powerplay.

Always bullish on the future.
We don't always win Hockey East or the Beanpot.. but when we do.. we are the Champions
Even discounting the two empty netters, it's still very satisfying to see them finally break away from the two-goals-per-game horse collar they've been wearing. Loved the Kesselring bomb and the generally more aggressive point play. They'll need to step up the shot count next weekend and sustain some pressure against one of the better goalies in the league.
Saturday was encouraging; Friday, not so much. But Providence is not chopped liver so hoping a corner may have been turned.

Adam Gaudette with couple snipes for Vancouver last night. Much like the Bruins, was losing effort in bonus time at the end, but nonetheless, pretty goals...

Condolences on Chicken Lou's closing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lous, Punters, was only a matter of time once NU purchased the building. Thx to the family & best to them. They will be around until the Spring. The only constant is change.
Changing gears, Swayman is easily going to be the best G, NU has faced this season. Glad we found some offense last gm as we going to need some (lots) of it this wknd. Best to the Huskies.
