Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

I mean, that's why it is censored. Any word that sets off Google Adsense gets censored.

    Cum-guzzling whore.

Edit: that's still good to go. Which is hilarious.

Not fun watching Bill Maher on MSNBC this morning call Elizabeth Warren "too scary" to be elected.

To be fair, she's pretty scary. I mean, look at her! She's a monster!

It's the whole socialism thing. I wonder how much traction that actually has with the centrists. Especially since everyone who is scared by it is stupid and doesn't understand the meaning of the term or the fact that it is being used entirely out of context.

I'd guess almost the entire population under the age of 40 who is reflexively frightened by "socialism" didn't go to college (at least, real college) and is already solid straight ticket red.

We are going to have to get used to a new reality: we don't have to tiptoe around the morons anymore. Once they were evenly distributed between both parties so scaring them was death. But now they have all migrated to their natural home on the Right. The Left can start pitching policies based on what works and what is ethical, not what won't disturb the prejudices and superstitions of the Morlocks.

The Right is stuck with them. We are free to govern according to reason, for the first time in American history.

Older Lefties (myself included) will never really absorb this fully. We were trained from birth, or at least from the first day of Kindergarten, to lay low and be careful of the dummies: quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand. We knew that to be smart was to be the target of violence and to be kind was to be the target of mockery, and we knew the world was full of apes. We knew not to challenge the morons' conceptions of morality, theology, or economics because they would respond with their only brains: their fists. And we knew not to run on intelligent ideas and solutions in public because the dummies would become confused if not outright enraged.

But that is passing away. The Boomers are the last generation with a significant portion of dummies on the Left and a few straggler smarties on the Right. From Gen X on the electorate's mitosis is complete. We can run on intellect and not lose by it.

    It's childhood's end.

Unfortunately, it's not being corrected either, perpetuating the myth.

This is *exactly* how the definition of "litterally" eroded to included both actual AND figurative in its definition.

We have two ways we can go after 2016 as Democrats. Get even "safer" and go with the old white guy whose policies are no different from Hillary but he's at least white, male, and hasn't been vilified by the other side. Or, go bold and progressive.

I think we need to go bold and progressive. I don't think Biden ultimately fixes anything and just sets us up for another Republican cycle. The last thing we need is someone who thinks they can work with these clowns. The stunt the pulled in NC yesterday. The stunts that Turtle Boy has pulled. We need someone in office who is going to bring the narrative to the people and dispel all this bs the right spews on a daily basis.

He's not scum but man he can be dense.

He's old. Older even than I. He has internalized the Dem establishment's "not in the face!" cowardice. His ideal world is a Clinton 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th term where we get rid of the immigrant cages and mandatory ultrasounds but inequality keeps skyrocketing because, after all, he "earned" it.

To a lot of people sadly this is true. If the media didnt completely suck at all things they could change this but they wont for various reasons we have discussed in the past.

I mean considering Maher was the first to push Bernie or Warren in any real capacity (going back years) it isnt like he doesnt want her to win.

That is mostly untrue. He liked Bill Clinton in the 1990s but he never supported Hillary Clinton at all. (even in 2008) He wants Socialists that is why he pushed Bernie to run going back to 2008. He is farther left than most on the environment as well. I think you need to spend less time reading what Kos says about him and actually research where he is at on most of the issues. Hell he wants a higher tax rate than I think Warren does. (or has in the past)

The guy is dense but he is hardly a centrist. He was exposing the GOP for what they were long before anyone and was saying not to negotiate with terrorists.

He may be to the Right of you...but who isnt

But like most old liberals he lacks the courage of his convictions. Reagan really left a mark. It taught people of a certain age (mine) that the populace would always be fooled by a smooth talking, smiling simpleton who offered "free stuff" (tax cuts -- never you mind how we'll pay for them!) and who would burn the poors alive as long as they were a different color.

That was the Boomers' world: a world of selfishness, self-indulgence, self-absorption. But now the Boomers are dying and from what I've seen of the youngins they will shovel our selfishness into our graves along with us. They will bury us, thank god.

I've been watching him every week for 20 years across his shows; have you? Maybe if you stopped making inane assumptions about other people you wouldn't make such a fool of yourself.

I'm not saying he's not a liberal -- my whole point is he is. I'm saying that he is a liberal, and he does want liberal policies, but he is too afraid to go for it now that it's here.

Going back to when it was on Comedy Central. And even then he was pushing Lefty candidates even though he tried to make the show more funny than anything.

He is not a politician, he doesnt need to have "courage of his convictions" He gives all the candidates a forum if they want it. Notice it is Centrists like Hillary and Obama who never really spent time on his show...it is usually the Lefties who need the forum. Not many Clinton 5th termers would be asking Bernie to win or donating to their campaign pre-Trump and you know it. Not many would be begging for the regulations Warren wants to put in. (not many would let Zack Galif...Galifanotgonnaworkhereanymore smoke pot on the air either) A Clinton 5th termer wouldnt spend the majority of their time fighting for the environment, PETA or railing on the Center.

The dude is dense, and a pain to watch sometimes cause he often gets tunnel vision and interrupts everyone like he is their wife or something. He is a comedian. His convictions are to get laughs first and then espouse his ideas. His ideas are closer to you than you want to admit.

And I will stop making assumptions about you when you do the same.

Within the party, we are free.

With Congress we need to gain power. Having gained it we don't have to kneel before the Shrine of the Great Unwashed anymore.

How do we gain it? De-Nazification.

I think his ideas on most things are very similar to mine. He seems pretty f-cked up on #metoo, though. Enough that I assume he's eventually going to get popped.

But his schtick is speaking the unacknowledged truth in the room. He does understand for instance that there is no way to negotiate with the Nazis. They're insane and they're not going to help. The only way to work with them is to pare down their numbers to where they're easy to scoop up and shunt through the exhaust vent.

But he's old so he still lives in 1980s America where you have to pretend to believe in Reagan's rhetoric because all the voters do. That's not true anymore -- the only people who believe government is a bigger threat than the rich after the last 40 years of evidence are irredeemably brainwashed Republicans. So we don't have to pay any attenion to that claptrap anymore.

The bad thing about all the dummies being on the Right now is there are a lot of them.

The good thing about all the dummies being on the Right now is we don't have to pretend to be dummies any more to appease them.
