We're talking about the average movie-goer so it's a little higher than the average person.

One thing Dump has taught us is just how low the true average really is. In most contexts we see at worst down to about 70-80%. It's only Dump rallies and prison where you get the full 100% into view.

There are plenty of "Ow my balls" films in theaters each week that disprove this assertion.

That is because stupid aggregate sites like RT allow anyone to review films so now the "Ow My Balls" films arent just for giggles anymore, they get rated high as "art". The higher they get ranked, the more of them get made because they are cheap and easy.

Dont get me wrong, I love a stupid comedy as much as the next guy (I went and saw Stuber...though I am an AMC A Lister so I didnt pay for it) but bloggers trying to legitimize screw ball comedies are ridiculous. RT has ruined critics...

You forgot about the Road House/Shawshank Theory. At any given time, ONE of those movies will be on TV.

I think it's dead. Road House is still going strong. It seems like Point Break is on a lot.

Handy and I just don't agree on movies.

                      Terminator Dark Fate.

You know what this film reminds me of? Star Wars The Force Awakens. All throughout the movie you have Deja Vu but you're absolutely loving all the payoffs, homages, etc. It delivers everything you can want.

And I loved the "new things" introduced. And I loved the ending.

The beauty of a franchise like this one is you can do just about anything you want? Why? Cause there's no such thing as consistency when time travel is involved. The folks that say he pretended that nothing existed since T2 isn't true. It all works. Why? Cause time travel is involved.

I had a great time at this film. Gave me everything I wanted and more. 4/5. I didn't give it a five because there wasn't any new ground broken here.

                          This should scare you Scoob.

And sorry Scooby but the franchise is dead. This one cost $185 million to make (which is ridiculous after the last 2 films crapped the bed) and it is not gonna get close to enough to even sniff breaking even. Sadly, it will bomb harder than Dark Phoenix did which sucks cause I LOVE Terminator. This one might make less than Genisys.

We agree more often than not, you just love genre films and give them more leeway than I do. I love them too but sometimes I can't look past certain things.

If Cameron had directed this it would have been WAY better.

Just got back from Dark Fate and I enjoyed it. B/B- range.

I thought that the action scenes were well shot. Never lost track of what was happening and the CGI didn't become overbearing. The story was serviceable. You could predict what would happen, but I didn't go in wanting to think. I liked how they brought Linda Hamilton into the fold. Yes, she's in her 60's but she made it work. Also liked the callbacks that they did. Some were good for a chuckle but weren't a flashing neon sign.

I do think that this will end the franchise however. There were maybe 20 of us in an IMAX theatre. It's not groundbreaking and won't bring people in for 2nd/3rd viewings because people tell anyone and everyone that this is a "must see!".

From all accounts, doesn't matter if they loved this movie or hated this movie, all have agreed this should be the end of the franchise.

I am planning on seeing it next weekend....

Dark Fate did $29M here and $123M worldwide. Breakeven is estimated at $480M. I don't think it's going to make it.
Dark Phoenix lost $100M for Fox/Disney. This may rival it.
