there are epic meltdowns happening re Rise of Skywalker already.

I checked the closest theater to me and seats are still available for Saturday the 21st. How can it not be a cluster**** when Rian Johnson and JJ never talked?
Everything in its right place, Wisconsin Hockey National Champs!

Paramount showed raiders of the lost ark, temple of doom and now Last Crusade...man, ark and crusade are great movies. Been ages since I’d seen them.
I finished homework during temple of doom.

Yeah, Temple is not in the same class as the others. At the time, it was meh at best. Now? Not good.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

The best part was when our Engineering VP showed it on a bus trip to Tahoe, with an 80% Indian group. That was well thought out.

Still planning on seeing it, but if it's that bad, having just watched Marriage Story, I'll save my money on getting Netflix. Marriage Story seemed very, very forced, especially the script- you could easily tell when there was a point where an interruption should have happened, but it was more a reaction than an interruption. And the story line- maybe I'm just to happy, but it was not all that great- you could not tell if it was going to end good or bad, and by the end, I really didn't care.

Other NF moves on the big screen I didn't like as well.

The fact that they get so many accolades tells me that NF is putting a lot of promotion into their product, even though it's not all that great. Saves me time wondering if any of their series are worth the time, I guess.

It depends upon what interests you. Some of Netflix's original stuff is really good, but there's a lot of clunkers out there, too.

That's what I'm not so sure about- the movies I have seen, I should have been interested in the story- it's just that the script, directing, and whatnot was so bad that I didn't like it. So even IF it's interesting to me, I'm quite dubious of the quality based on their nationally released big screen movies.

                      Yeah, I get that.

If you're still on the fence, I'd suggest trying the free 30 days, and watch The Big Short, the movie about the housing market and subsequent derivatives collapse. There may be a few others on your list too. For something more fun, I'd highly recommend Stranger Things.

The Big Short is not a Netflix movie. It's a Paramount one, and I've seen it already. I'm more questioning the Netflix original movies they did. It was a great movie, but does not really apply in my questioning.

Sorry, I thought it was a Netflix movie.

Not a problem. But I will be noting the netflix originals on the big screen...

I love Netflix, and agree their original stuff is hit or miss. Depends on what you're interested in. However, there is SO MUCH of it, that I would guess you'd like more than you don't like (and then all the other non-Netflix is still there, too). If you go disc option (I have streaming and 1-disc plans), that is a crap ton of viewing available. My streaming list is about 2 dozen, my disc list is about 120. Those numbers have remained pretty constant for the last 4-5 years.
