    White House announces Jared Kushner's former 'coffee boy' as new Middle East envoy

    I checked. This isn't satire.

    A 2017 Business Insider profile of Mr Berkowitz quoted former White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks as saying his main duties were “daily logistics like getting coffee and coordinating meetings.”

    A former employer said on Twitter Mr Berkowitz was “not very impressive and needed significant hand-holding to handle even simple assignments. But Mideast peace? I’m sure he’s got this!” Another Arab states expert described him as “a glorified intern”.

    The appointment “demonstrates a lack of seriousness” in the administration’s approach to the peace plan and Mr Kushner’s complete dominance over the process, former Middle East advisor to the US defence department Jasmine El-Gamal told The Telegraph. “They are not even pretending otherwise by hiring a qualified person as an envoy.”

      On a certain level, the Saudis deserve this. Like sands in an hourglass these are the days of their rule, and they had better use their oil leverage to secure a sane, democratic future for the region because the day it runs out is the day we throw them to their own people, no matter how rich they are.

        And I think you can be pretty certain that the players at the table have known this for a long time and have been playing their cards with that in mind. With regard to impeachment, though, it's not a simple call if you view the election result as an existential issue taking precedent over all others. And I think everybody (except people like us whose opinions carry no risk--only lack of cred on this board from and to strangers) is less certain about predicting elections after '16 and Brexit.           And further we should assume every Dumpy is going to vote for his fuhrer again. I work with them. They are motivated. They are already keyed up to hate whoever Dump tells them to hate, and that will of course be our nominee.

          I hope Perez has detailed analyses of every non-Dumpy in OH, PA, MI, WI, IA, FL, ME. Who they are, whether they voted, whether they are registered, what Elks Lodge they belong to, what their bowling score is, which number spouse this is, which extra value meal they order. And I hope our nerds have created social media micro-targetting that's far better than the GOP's Russian system.

          It's going to come down to non-Dumpies in swing states who didn't vote in 2016.

                    So he's bypassing two levels and getting promoted directly from analyst to senior consultant because the current guy on the project is leaving the firm and he and the boss run in the same social circles? Tale as old as time.

                                Not odd at all. The lower his supposed numbers go the more his followers love him. It's only going to get worse. But hey we're worried impeaching will backfire.
