Good job, Buffs!
Meanwhile earlier this afternoon at Kent State (per @UMaineFH)
Well... that's a new one.
Today's game at @KentState has been declared a "no contest" after Kent State administration came onto the field prior to the second overtime half and called off the game to allow the noontime Kent football game to begin on time.
Well, someone sucks at scheduling. I'd like to know why would Kent State host a Field Hockey Tournament/Invite on a Football weekend if the field needed to be shut down to host football? Only thing I can think of is that TV (The Ocho?) somehow moved this game to it's Noon start time...
It's never too early to start the Pre-game festivities![]()

They don't even play on the football field, it's a separate facility north of the football stadium. So they most likely got kicked off for some fan fest even or band practice.

They updated the story actually... It was to setup fireworks for Kent States pregame per a Maine Field Hockey player...
Again, who fell asleep planing this weekend's logistics? Most D-I schools that have an on-campus football stadium will have their other Athletic fields/facilities adjacent to the football field. The staff knows that everything gets shut down for football. It's standard practice. Think about how often you see a Noon or 3pm football game followed by a 7 or 8pm hockey game in Oct. or Nov.

Some darned exciting games- BYU makes a great play with 15 seconds to go so that they could tie it up, and they win it in 2OT.
And that Texas-LSU game- both teams claim to be DBU, but it's more not that for both teams- the QB have really started tearing the backs up.
Cal v Washington starts at 10:30 EST, immediately goes into a weather delay in the 1st Quarter.

Nope, PA is northeast; MD, WV, KY are not -- Lambert Cup be d-mned.

Pittsburgh's always been a head-scratcher for me. IMO, it's on the wrong side of Appalachia for that part of PA to be called "northeast".
Michigan Tech: "Working with scraps and guys from places so remote that Houghton seems like a metropolis"
I'll buy that. Philadelphia is the capital of New Jersey. Pittsburgh is the capital of West Virginia.

Speaking of which, I was watching the Army-Michigan football game Saturday and they had an interesting stat. As of kickoff, only three programs had an all-time winning record against Michigan in football: Army, USC and Cornell.
With Army's loss Saturday, they are now 5-5 all-time, so out of that club.
USC is 6-4, and it's certainly possible those two teams will play again. Cornell, at 12-6, seems a lock to some day hold the distinction of the only winning football record against Michigan. That is unless Michigan decides that they really like being Ohio State's punching bag each year (I think OSU is only behind by about 8 wins.)
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
