I mean there's no way it'd be an NHL contract, but very few collegiate players play immediately in the NHL after the season. I moreso meant an AHL or even an ECHL deal depending on how they view him. The point remains though. Has this happened before? What was the outcome? What do we think Burgess does?

If Burgess stays healthy, he can improve upon last season. He has the ability to have a breakout year, but I think that he would have to show the Sens that he can do it for more than just one year. I think they would like to keep him in college for an additional year, to evaluate the real Todd Burgess. JMO

You don’t have to play in the NHL because you’ve signed an NHL contract. Also, if the Sens don’t sign him by this time next year he’ll become a FA.
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

I happened to be in the neighborhood this morning...no snow pile behind HFH, but it won't be long now.

Zach Dubinsky was listed as playing in the Chicago Pro Hockey League this summer, both in the Pro and the Development divisions. He has apparently not played the first three weeks. Hopefully, this doesn't mean that he has not recovered from last year's injury.
