There's actually very little difference between the Dems. The rest is just amplified by the media trying to gin up a "Dems in Disarray" meme for the sake of ratings until Chump starts a war somewhere. All serious Dem candidates are proposing a massive increase in government run health care. The differences pertain to keeping private insurance if you like alongside a public option or getting rid of private insurance entirely. Compared to the current status quo, that's semantics. Compared to what the Republicans would do, its like the difference between night and day.

As I've said before, some of the more progressive policies being talked about are going to take a decade of sustained electoral victories to implement. Even in a good year, the Dems will have a narrow Senate majority. That majority rests on people like Manchin, Tester, and if he wins Doug Jones. In short, we'll need to pass improvements in the next Congress that will actually make it to a Dem Prez while we build critical mass for bigger changes.

That first paragraph is dead on. It’s like saying Hillary and Bernie were substantially different. They had something like an 80% overlap. And we’re talking as moderate a candidate and as liberal a candidate as the Dems could field.

Ryan and Delaney should be dropping out today after their performances last night. Beto doesn’t know what to do if he’s not the young pretty boy on stage. He looked lost with Pete up there taking away the spotlight.

Hickenlooper did alright, but as Fade said, with Pete there he doesn’t really need to be. Bullock and Klobuchar also had decent nights, but their main points seem to be that they can win because of where they live versus any of their policies.

They were substantially different, the 20% included things like the Iraq war and doesn’t even get into their backgrounds or differences in healthcare, paying a living wage, or willingness to actually fight against billionaires.

Like it or not the “moderates” are making a very good point talking about ideas that can actually get implemented vs pie-in-the-sky ideas.

Warren is doing better than Bernie. I like her as my senator. I doubt think she beats Trump if she gets the nod.

Why is socialized medical care so terrible of an idea? We already have socialized defense, which works really well, and it totally state of the art. We have socialized schooling, which would be better off if R's would just let people learn without cutting funding, and we have socialized justice and punishment. All of them work quite effectively.

And the health care system we have right now IS SOCIALISM! When people pool their resources for the greater good, that's socialism. The difference between the "radical progressive pie in the sky" vs. what we have now is that people make a lot of money telling me how I get to use my healthcare dollars vs letting the system to work a lot better.

Just black box what's happening right now- for very many of us, our employer sends money to entity X, and that entity tells me who and what I can do if I get sick. Their ultimate responsibility, by law, is their shareholders. Change entity X to government, who will do exactly the same thing, but with the ultimate responsibility to satisfy the patient. Even with increased taxes, I'll not even notice a change in my take home pay.

How is it that the government is so evil, but for profit companies that make money laundering my money is ok? Dilbert cartoons are not funny just because, they were funny because they resonate a lot of truth. They have mis-management and corruption, too. And for non-consumer items like healthcare, they really provide no benefit.

Delaney is not a serious candidate, and Bernie will not get Medicare for all passed in his first term given even the most optimistic forecast of Dem Senate #'s and expected GOP obstruction. That will take a decade's worth of sustained electoral victories. I'm not sure what part of that you're struggling with.
