Edit: And as was mentioned, we aren't the ones who went full Nut job cause the black woman said vegetables are good and people should eat more of them.

      But you keep trying, 'k?
I joked a couple of pages back that InfoWars will claim it's some Deep State activity at work causing Trump to about-face his vaccination stance. Totally waiting for Flaggy to post a link proving my guess accurate.

That does sound pretty fabulous. Long breaks works for me, because I like long, aimless trips that don't need to be planned. Plus, you know, I love my job, which is way more important than the other stuff, anyway.

I get about 6 weeks PTO at my job, can carry over 1 week per year. Like mookie, lots of 3 and 4 day weekends. I like it like that.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Do you do a lot of quick trips to see different parts of Minnesota/the Midwest (I'm assuming that in the four or five years I disappeared from the boards you didn't move out of Minnesota.)? If I had the opportunity, I'd enjoy taking some long weekends and seeing parts of Alaska that I've never been to.

I haven't in the past, but plan to this summer, mostly greater MN and maybe some jaunts to eastern/central WI (read: brewery road trips )

I teach college as an adjunct so no PTO but have probably the most ridiculously open schedule of all time! GF teaches in district and the PTO rules are so draconian she almost never uses hers. Much easier for me to travel than her (I also get paid better)

My district has pretty relaxed rules about PTO, but because going anywhere requires getting on a flight that is stupidly expensive and almost as likely as not to be cancelled due to weather, I don't bother.

Big 5 consulting. Level 8/9 get 21 days until 5 years of service or promotion to level 7 (manager) or higher, then IIRC it increases to 23 days. I think it maxes out at 27 days for MDs & execs.

This is key. I have decent PTO (200 hours) but it includes sick days and there's no carryover. One illness and you're f-cked for the year.

One of the really nice things about teaching is that, in most districts, there is plenty of sick leave for a typical year, and if you're a union member, there is usually a sick leave bank that you can participate in so you can be covered if you're struck with something that forces you to have an extended sick leave.

I get 4 weeks of vacation paid out at 45 hours plus an option week paid at 40 hours. Catch is that you have take them weeks at a time (meaning Sunday to Saturday) plus you have to bid by seniority as only so many can be off. I also get 4 individual days that can be taken plus I accrue sick time every month that doesn’t expire.

But I also can’t take time off from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
