On the Women’s side the US has had the worlds premier development system: College soccer and the youth system designed to promote girls to it. Hundreds of universities with world class training facilities and perfectly cromulent coaching churning out athletically gifted (though not really technically or tactically gifted) players. If you want to know who’s responsible for the US winning four Women’s World Cups, thank college football and Title IX.

The other countries are starting to invest but the US has had a 40 year head start.
So, the US Women are 40 years ahead of the rest of the world, and the US Men are 100 years behind? That doesn't sound promising for a Men's World Cup in my lifetime. I guess we will just have to enjoy our dominance on the women's side.

Currently, the United States has won more FIFA World Cups than any other country except three: Germany (6), Brazil (5), Italy (tied with the US with 4).

The point here isn't political, it's economic. US mens soccer is still controlled by the Philly main line and those east cost prep schools you midwestern hayseeds love to hate on. You should actually be on my side in this. Y'know, death to the coasties, @ etc.

This isn't about your predictable parochial malfunction. This is something real.
Uh no. If anything soccer in this country is controlled by California and Texas with maybe New Jersey involved.

Also, I learned today that Zack Steffen, Sean Johnson, Nick Lima, Omar Gonzalez, Reggie Cannon, Weston McKennie, Cristian Roldan, Gyasi Zardes, Jozy Altidore, and Jonathan Lewis are all from rich white families!

Instead of rambling just accept you were wrong. It’d save Ralph the worry of us catching up in post count.

Ralph is like 100k ahead of us. I don't think that's a worry.

Also: it's not that you're wrong. It's just that you're not listening. Your arguments aren't bad because they're wrong, they're bad because they have nothing to do with anything we are talking about.

Or, you could accept you have no idea what you’re talking about and listen to the guy who’s been involved in the US Soccer system for most of his life.

                        I didn't delete sh-t, Jim. (853)

Play your games; don't do that sh-t. You can be wrong; that's fine -- we believe the crap we've been programmed to believe. None of that matters.

But don't lie about people. That makes you a dick.

Legions of women’s soccer fans in United States return to hibernation for another four years.

“We, the best fans in the world, had a great time following the World Cup these past few weeks,” stated the gathered masses at watch parties in Kansas City, Boston, New York, and Orlando. “We would like to thank the United States women for winning the World Cup and we promise to return, mostly, in 2023 as long as the team is good and has a chance to win the World Cup then as well.”

The United States has the fourth most medals in Alpine, and the third most gold medals in the history of the sport. If you look at alpine medals in this millennia the USA is second. Or is there a different "rich country" that you're referring to?
