I have watched many games in the BCHL, the SJHL and the MJHL over the last few years. The MJHL is good hockey and it is only ranked as a lower league because of the NCAA Div I commitment rate. Those rankings are mainly based on commitments to college. Given the remoteness of many of the teams in both the SJHL and the MJHL, it is understandable why they don't get a high percentage of Div ! commitments. This is not necessarily a measure of the quality of play within the league. The top end teams in both leagues can play against the top teams in the BCHL and the NAHL. But they will never get the same number of commitments. It is just a matter of exposure. He will have plenty of opportunity to be challenged and develop his game.
