Chris Davis going 0-for-the-season to start the season was the hook, then the home run deluge kept us engaged.

The NL had dominated interleague play so far.

Rays AA prospect lost his wife, child, and mother-in-law in a triple homicide - suspect apprehended, was his brother-in-law.

There is apparently video of the aftermath, and we're not going there.

Is this the one where the guy was naked when the cops got there, was pointing a gun at them, threatening them etc., but because he had the good fortune to be white didn't end up dead?

Family also says a team staff member may be involved. This could get ugly.

Next time you're tempted to complain about the salaries baseball players make, consider that the Kansas City Royals, who sold for $96 million in 2000, were just purchased for $1 billion.

They had four winning seasons between sales.

Twins hit six home runs to break the record for homers in a season tonight against the Tigers...with still a month left in the season. However, they fall to Detroit 10-7. The six home runs in a loss was one shy of the record.

I like Joe Maddon, and he got the Cubs the banner they have been waiting for since the crucifixion. But if he doesn't turn it around enough to both make the playoffs and get past the first round, he's a goner, IMO. And I'd be OK with that. They're not going to get a person with his personality, which I would miss.
