No, there haven't been any links to a video feed, but the live stats will be on: https://pennstate.sidearmsports.com/...hockey/summary

(I'll have some video from the game that I'll post here later tonight)

Well, Penn State won as expected, 4-0, but it looked like an exhibition game. The stats make it look like a thumping, but it took half the game for Penn State to really get going. No complaints at all, being the first time back together in a game, and it was great to be back at Pegula for hockey. The freshmen looked good, except for Rachel Weiss tripping when she was introduced in the starting lineup. Junior goalie Chantal Burke played the whole game.

I fumbled my way through videoing the game, messing up as I went along, but here's some game play video, anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmbu...ature=youtu.be

And here's the Penn State game recap: https://gopsusports.com/news/2019/9/...utout-win.aspx

5 asst captains? No Adolfson or Fidler and it looks like Burke and Leonard have flip flopped again?
The good news is Rolph is back out there.

I was looking for someone with a "C" for the whole game and never spotted one, so I don't know what's up with that. Jessica Adolfsson and Loli Fidler were in street clothes on the bench during warmups, but Adolfsson wouldn't tell me why - I tried I was surprised to see Chantal Burke start, but it was good to see her get that much playing time, assuming she's the starter next season. You're right about Morgan Rolph - it was great to see her back on the ice. Her injury last January looked pretty bad.

Re: 2019-20 Penn State Nittany Lions

This was the lineup yesterday, if anyone is wondering how Jeff Kampersal put lines together: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EFAL9VHX...name=4096x4096

It's hard to say anything about lines and who was where, being an exhibition game, because obviously Kampersal was still mixing and matching. He had to fit three freshman forwards in there somewhere, and not having Loli Fidler on offense and Jessica Adolfsson on defense shook things up, too. I tried to really watch the freshmen, but only came away with #28 Mikayla Lantto and #29 Rachel Weiss leaving an impression, because they seemed to be in the scramble at the net a lot. If I hadn't been trying to work a camera, I would've focused more on freshman forward #14 Julie Gough, as this opponent was the team she just graduated from, and I'd love to have seen if she gave anyone a little extra bump on the boards.

Kampersal has 2-1/2 really solid lines of forwards, without figuring in any freshmen, so if the freshmen can get into D-1 hockey from the start he's got a good offense to work with this season.

I think I feel bad for making this, but someone was going to do it eventually:

Re: 2019-20 Penn State Nittany Lions

Two days to game time on the road at Holy Cross, and I'd love to have a decent read on Holy Cross, but that's not happening. I don't see any video links for the weekend, and nothing at all on the Penn State schedule for coverage, but the Holy Cross schedule shows a link for live stats (https://goholycross.com/SportSelect....2&SPSID=917322)

With only an exhibition game on the books, it's hard to say a lot about Penn State right now, but nothing looked out of sorts in that game. It took a little while to settle into it, but they got better with each period and finished hard, so they looked good.

I don't know what lit a fire under Shea Nelson, but she picked up right where she left off at the end of last season. Brooke Madsen looked ready to get back to her ways after a bit of a slump last season - she was all go, too. Katie Rankin went 14-2 in the face-off circle, where she's almost always dominant, and had eight shots on goal, and an assist. Natalie Heising was doing the Natalie Heising the whole time, but it looked like maybe a little too much until others get up to speed. Nobody looked out of it - all that's really left to do is settle on pairings for lines, and get that chemistry going. I hope Holy Cross comes out hard and fast and gives Penn State a real battle!

You can tell Brenneman loves Penn State and is ready for a big year. Will Cam Leonard or Chantal Burke get the call in game two?

There does seem to be a radio broadcast on tonight on the game.

The Holy Cross article only lists tomorrow night's game on radio (they're only doing eight women's hockey games this year).

Penn State is up 2-1 at Holy Cross after the first period. Penn State got on the board less than two minutes in, on a first career goal (and first shot of the game) from freshman Julie Gough, but Holy Cross tied it two minutes later on a power play. Natalie Heising scored an even strength goal to make it 2-1. Penn State leads the shots on goal 10-6, and is 12-5 in the faceoff circle.

Judging by the live stats, Holy Cross came out blazing in the first part of the period, but Penn State eventually settled in and started taking over. Kampersal has mentioned the slow starting of Penn State, and hopefully he can work on that.

Re: 2019-20 Penn State Nittany Lions

I just got home and missed everything after the first period, but it was a big surprise to come home and see a 3-3 OT tie with Holy Cross. Penn State finished ahead 43-22 in shots on goal. Holy Cross went 2-for-3 on the power play and Penn State went 1-for-3. Like last weekend, Loli Fidler was not in the lineup, so I hope she's not injured. I know it's the first game of the season, and you can't take squat from game one, but wow. Jeff Kampersal is going to light these guys up between now and tomorrow's game.

Kudos to Holy Cross for coming to play, for sure.

A bad tie and yet a good tie with killing off a penalty in ot. No way Brenneman gets night off tomorrow. Yes, you are right on radio tomorrow.

Game time at Holy Cross tonight is 6:05 (Eastern Time). Links for coverage:

Live stats are still showing yesterday's game stats right now, and I don't know if it just automatically resets for tonight's game, but this is the link both teams are giving for tonight:

Radio broadcast, and there's supposed to be a pregame show on it, too: https://pridemedia.backbonebroadcast..../worcester.php

No score at Holy Cross after one period. Penn State leads the shots on goal 6-4. If you're listening to the radio broadcast, you know how bad that is - they need to change an audio setting somewhere so it stops stuttering and repeating.
