Minnesota outshoots UMD in the first period 17-1 yet the game is tied 1-1 after 1 period.

Terrible play all around: bad breakout pass; defense out of position; and a goalie waving at the puck. Shots are 17-1 in favor of Minnesota after a period, which fairly accurately reflects the play, but the score is 1-1.

The Hughes line for UMD has got to get tired at some point. They must have logged ten minutes in that period.
