I don't know how anyone can vote anyone other than Gabel to win.

Pankowski? Why not Gebhard or Maltais or Schammel? Who has been more valuable to their team? As for Selander, good for her but believe Sauve had similar stats a few years ago on a weaker OSU team and was not considered. Lock in Gabel.

I think you're going to see Keller in the final 3 even if it's only because none of the other forwards REALLY stick out. They'll all split a lot of votes, but Keller is going to be on a lot of ballots as a generational scoring D.

(I also think Keller deserves to be final 3 entirely on the merits but what do I know with my maroon and gold goggles)

I would love to see Keller get it! When was the last time a D was the winner? (edit 2004 Angela Ruggerio) RPI is nothing without Selander, she is the only other choice for me.

Well ... because they favor someone else when weighing all of the criteria. I might consider Selander because the other kids who have strong GPA/major combinations, mostly seniors, are players who don't have a chance to win. Gabel left the door open in that regard. The other thing that I have to consider about Gabel is that whenever I watch her team, I come away thinking that she isn't the best player on her line.

Gabel is a great player who has had a very strong career. I agree that she will likely win. It just isn't as open and shut as you make it seem.

I'm not sure what that has to do with Keller.

Looking thru my Green and Gold Glasses Gabel is the fastest skater, has the hardest shot and is the best pure goal scorer on the Clarkson team. Giguere is just amazing in her vision on the ice and getting the puck to the player with the best chance of scoring (usually Gabel) as well as having some slick moves to get open and score. I hope Gabel is the winner but if not so be it. I believe the final 3 will come from Gabel, Keller, Selander, Giguere, Schammel and Pankowski.

I understand that the G vs G comparison is different for Clarkson fans, as it was when Darwitz and Wendell were on the same line. Gabel is similar to Darwitz in many ways, while Giguère is similar to Wendell in the quantity of "Wow!" plays that she can make.

                        Absolutely! Selander all the way.

Although I would like to see Eldridge win it just to stick it to Team Canada.

Zumwinkle not listed. My opinion only, best F in WCHA. Dunne is best player in WCHA. Neither listed.

Yep, give the award to someone just to stick it to Team Canada. Real smart.

Pankowski deserves it. She has been one of the best in the history of the WCHA!
