Just thinking about the DMG brings back memories (good ones in my case -- the DMG against Fredonia in 2006). It's odd that the NCHA still uses it. Adrian stayed alive today but imagine they'd lost twice this weekend. It would have likely sunk their season. The SUNYAC got rid of the double elimination with a mini-game format to help out their teams' at-large prospects and it was a good decision. It's amazing some conferences still use it in spite of the obvious drawbacks.
