It just occurs to me that it would be very helpful at various times in the future to change that to a majority of 8 who do like hockey and have a serious investment in it's future success.
That isn't going to happen for years if at all. So in the mean time we have to pay to play so to speak. and it sucks.

    Yep, that's a good analogy.

UW has a really good chance of making the B7FF. All 3 goals allowed against UM Saturday were backside d breakdowns that the Hammer had no chance on. Clean those up, play fast and win 2 out of 3 against a porous PSU team. Then UW is only 2 wins a away from the ncaa's and no B7 team is dominant so we are THAT close.

If that were to happen, there is a slight chance that we could get up to 2 more games in Madison (I'm not sure what the plans would be for Kohl vs Coliseum)

The second round is the 2 top remaining seeds hosting the 2 bottom remaining seeds.
Ohio State is locked in as the #1, they host the lowest remaining seed.

Notre Dame took 11 of 12 points vs Michigan State this year, but ND has gone 5-5 in their last 10. Michigan State is 3-5-2, but thy split vs ranked Penn State and ranked Ohio State...anything can happen.

The other series is Michigan/Minnesota. Minnesota took 8 of 12 points in the regular season. Michigan had gone 5-3-1 in their last 9 before dropping 2 OT games in Madison. Minnesota has played the last 8 games against ranked opponents and has gone 5-3 in that stretch. Minnesota appears to have the advantage, but have been pretty average at home with a record of 10-8-2. Michigan could find a way through this weekend.

If each series generates an upset, it would be Michigan State traveling to Ohio State and Michigan coming back to Madison.
In that case, Wisconsin could host Michigan State for the finals.

The smart money has Wisconsin on the road for the rest of the season. Sure, they could make a run and win the conference tourney to get into the NCAAs, but they would likely be doing so outside of Dane County.

No idea who will win any of these B1G games this year. Conference has been brutal and probably deserving of a bit better position in the national picture then they have. OSU definitely earned their spot in the NCAA tourney the hard way. If any other team can win 4 and the B1G tourney title, they will also really deserve to be in no matter who it is. It's wide open, but obviously pulling for all the underdogs on the road this weekend.

News on Miller didn't sound too encouraging, but it sounds like Mersch will go. PSU gets Evan Barrat (16g;23a in 28gp) back, which is just huge for them. Going to be really tough to handle if the boys don't stay disciplined and play the right way. Unlike last year though, Badgers are playing well and can potentially win this series.

Bunz played well as others have mentioned, I don't feel that concerned about Miller not being in the line-up. If they keep their heads on swivels and play well in the D zone, they can win these games.

6 penalties makes it hard to hold a 3-1 lead.

    Sigh...

Badgers arent making the same plays as last weekend. Breakaways and 2on1s they are shooting it into the goalies stomach and not setting up teammates. Unlike last weekend. 3 breakaways and nothing even close. Ugly actually. Penn State is making all kinds of plays.... and no look passes. PSU looks like the Russians compared to UW. Lebedeff playing like a boss.

They are playing hard no doubt but lacking confidence with the puck. Its like theyre scared.

OMG. I was about to post that the Badgers have 40 shots and most are from bad angles. And then the Dhoogster shoots from a somewhat bad angle and scores. Serves me right. If they hold on then this is the definition of a grinder for UW.

Granato was getting in the face of some PSU player at the end. Then OZ half assed pushed a kid. Just kind of nudged him away. Not sure why didnt see it. Like the fire though. Badgers sticking up for Badgers.

Were those the Penn St announcers? They seemed awfully biased, especially at the end.

I wish they would’ve actually showed the replay on the Kalynuk hit. Honestly though, **** Penn St.

Edit: Barratt got a 5 minute major and a game misconduct at the end. Announcers: “didn’t look dirty at all.”

I hope we can hear more on this. I hear Evan Barrett for PSU leveled Kalynuk and UW coaches took exception. Tony, Oz and Winchester barked at the player evidently? Anyone see or hear more?

Yeah PSU announcers. Sounded like college kids or young guys. Annoying for me.. but enthusiastic which I appreciate.

Listening on the radio and Badgers left the ice after the hit without shaking hands. Seisse sp? took exception apparently.
