    Re: AOC Rules!

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/m...mittee-meeting

According to a Tuesday Bloomberg report, Meadows and the Republicans were asking that five days rather than three be allotted for lawmakers to get back to D.C. to attend the questioning of witnesses by Democratic staff lawyers.

Ocasio-Cortez shot back: “I don’t believe we need five days,” she said, adding that lawmakers should already be in D.C. doing their jobs.

Meadows retorted by addressing Cummings. “Mr. Chairman, I can tell you on all of this at this particular point, we’re all wanting to cooperate. Sometimes our schedules, you know, we’re not just sitting around eating bonbons, waiting for the call of anybody.”

Ocasio-Cortez asked Cummings if five days were allotted back when Republicans controlled the committee. Cummings responded no.

    “Okay, thank you,” Ocasio-Cortez replied.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

So, Republicans immediately revert to obstruction. Shocking.

Having somebody there calling them on their bullsh-t is going to come as a shock to the Republicans.

And to a lot of Democrats. Evidently there's already a movement to primary AOC. She didn't "wait her turn." Horrors.

It's not that. It's machine pols are corrupt.

The Democratic establishment built themselves a fine rentier operation by attacking a symptom (poverty) but carefully never attacking the root cause (inequality). They built fine houses in Arlington and made the pundit rounds on TV, and became fat and lazy, and now a young generation of liberals is coming to clean the Augean stables.

I weep for Adonais—he is dead!
Oh, weep for Adonais! though our tears
Thaw not the frost which binds so dear a head!
And thou, sad Hour, selected from all years
To mourn our loss, rouse thy obscure compeers,
And teach them thine own sorrow, say: "With me
Died Adonais; till the Future dares
Forget the Past, his fate and fame shall be
An echo and a light unto eternity!"
Now, get on with it. And remember: double tap.

A really nice thing that Keats would show up in a hockey forum discussion on American politics.
