        Science wins again.

“A 6-year-old unvaccinated boy from Oregon was forced to undergo excruciating pain for nearly eight weeks in the hospital after he contracted tetanus, which can be prevented by a vaccine, as the first case of its kind in the state in nearly 30 years.”

And the upshot -- the parents refused any vaccinations after the patient survived a preventable illness.
This child should be taken from these parents, who obviously are not doing what is it in the best interest for the patient/child/s safety.

A full blown outbreak of measles, mumps, and rubella nationwide would quickly change your mind.

If I remember right, the highest vaccination rate in the country is in Mississippi or Alabama because they don't allow any exemptions. Either your kid gets vaccinated or no school, no exceptions. They have like 95 percent vaccination rates.

I often wonder how many of these anti-vaxers and people that support the parents' 'right to chose' are also pro-fetus?
Are there people that think having a child get a shot is too much of a burden, but forcing a women to subject her body to growing a human for 9 months is not?

As much as the fetus fetishers are fatheads, I think this is a very different group of chuckleheads. Marin County isn't a hotbed of Jesus jacka-sses.

If you're asking for logic out of knuckledraggers, good luck. These are after all the same people who think a 2 time divorcee who's banging a porn actress while his 3rd wife is home with his infant son is a "Man of God"!

I really hope that line makes the history books. It’s probably important to remember just how stupid we were.

I'm fine with the outcome...but I've got investments I can liquidate.
Well since you dont even know how the tax system works how about we not let you make the decision.

Anti-Vaxxers are a cancer. Personal Liberty only goes as far as you not putting me at risk and that is exactly what they are doing. If they dont want to follow the guidelines of what it takes to be a part of a society that is their choice and I accept it. Then they arent part of said society. They can home school their kids or they can start up a charter school that meets their needs.

                            Their rights dont overshadow mine.

The thing is, if there was any actual science to backup their ridiculous takes they would have a point. There isnt. Vaccines dont cause Autism or any of the other unfortunate childhood illnesses they blame on them every day. I get it, they want something to blame because in their mind it makes no sense. I get that and I feel for them...but millions of children get vaccinations every year and have for DECADES! There would be some proof, some pattern if this were the case and science tells us that isnt true. Well I am going to trust scientists over the Trophy Wives of Marin County and Manhattan.

                              It's a merciful God.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
