The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they tweet them with committals.

I figured that you had also heard that rumor. I guess I was wrong.

That's disappointing. Last season's Lawrence Academy team had about a dozen D-I players already committed and Fontaine was still looking. I suspect some schools thought he was a product of his linemates, who were both returning players with HE commitments. I was hoping young Mr. Fontaine would have some allegiance to the school that stepped up and offered him a scholarship. Then again, that's in short supply these days.

It’s not all on these kids. Don’t think for a second that schools are not somehow in these kids’ ears, i.e.; 3 straight 20+ losing seasons, other kids are de-committing from them, the coach is pulling committs (Modry & Bendorf), players are being dismissed from the team at mid-season, Assistant Coach is leaving (might be the one who scouted him). The hockey world in Juniors is a small one. All that said, I do agree with your statement about allegiance. None of these commits are guarantees. They’re just “verbal commits”. The players know it and so do all the coaches.

Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

Then again, we haven't been showing allegiance to players either recently.

When does anything ever bounce our way anymore??? At least this latest bad bounce remind me of the great line from Young Frankenstein. Where wolf??? There wolf.

We don’t know what happened in each case, but I think that was overblown. The Bendorf situation has all the earmarks of a kid that changed his mind and upset the coaching staff. I doubt Chicago would have used a very high draft pick on him without having talked to our staff and the player and gotten some assurances he’d be in camp. Smith may have felt that damaged his reputation in the junior community. As for the roster departures, with the exception of the Ohrvalls, they were all late roster additions over the last few years from lower junior leagues. Those are the kind of recruits you don’t promise anything other than an opportunity to earn your way onto D-I ice. The Ohrvalls just seemed to be incompatible with Smith’s style.

We are going to lose other recruits. I suspect Matt Cameron decommitted when his brother did.

And I have heard other rumors which I won't comment on. Players who improve can always get better offers.

Losing recruits is never good. The Cameron decomitt and Fontaine decomitt are big losses. I warned everybody where this thing was headed.
