Guess we can't talk about James Bond either, without dealing with the usual suspects bringing up politics. Its ****ing pathetic.

Pipe Dream regarding ENDGAME and some love from the Academy Awards:

        - Does this movie/franchise require some love for going into uncharted territory for modern film? The film hits the ground running and is basically running off the groundwork laid out over the 10 years of the MCU. If this was your first venture into the MCU, there is absolutely no way you could follow. That's never been done before.

I'm thinking of this along the lines of "arthouse ascetic". Like what a film like ROMA did last year. You just look at the film and can tell that it's different and took a chance on that. We see movies awarded for bucking the trend all the time.

I know its a pipe dream, but this franchise took similar steps with their storytelling. Disney just made $TEXAS off of it while most other awards contenders don't. I don't consider myself a film buff, but this thought has been bouncing around for a while. We did see some love given to BLACK PANTHER last year, but I feel that ENDGAME is much deeper from an artistic storytelling aspect. Nothing has ever been done so cleanly on the scale presented. And that deserves merit.

I hope the idea I'm trying to present is coming across. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I really do feel that there is artistic weight here.
It's never too early to start the Pre-game festivities

I'ma go ahead and voice what may well be a very unpopular opinion. I don't care for James Bond movies. Perhaps I'm the only one.

I can't definitively say all of them, that would be stupid. Almost as stupid as watching all of them would be once I've established that the concept fails to entertain me. lol I realized that I find them boring around 1990, and have probably only seen 2 that were made since then. I think I've seen most of the ones made before then, although I haven't seen the Lazenby one. I would probably sit and watch that one if I saw that it was on. But when you find yourself bored 30 minutes into a movie, and then that pattern repeats through a series of movies, it would be pretty foolish to keep watching them.

I dunno. Most comic book movies bore me to tears but there have been a few (Iron Man, Black Panther, Deadpool) that I really enjoyed and a few others (Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, Captain America) that were adequate.

If you've not liked most/any of the Bond films you'd seen to that point, you may want to give Casino Royale a try. Yes, it's Bond, but the movie has a very different tone than the ones preceding it. Daniel Craig plays the character differently than the others, and the tech used isn't so fantastical that it would take you out of the moment of the scene just to wonder at the idea of it all. Then again, perhaps you just don't like action-focused spy movies.

I almost switched to Sinema but their plans were not that great. I dropped MoviePass during the Mission Impossible debacle and switched to AMC Stubs A List. It is the superior plan that I get to use all the time...only problem is the AMC theater by me sucks and hasnt been updated in quite some time. Since I have the time during the day though I usually get my value out of it.
