No, he didn't. He had one evaluation for possible PTSD, and was determined not to be a threat to himself or others. No follow-ups, no referrals to a therapist, nothing but left to his own devices to deal.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

          ??
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

I hope some day and I hope its soon. That there is a societal realization that just asking the gun supporters nicely to raise the age at which you can buy a select class of weapons from 18 to 19 is not enough. That closing a few background check loopholes is not enough. There needs to be a sea change in how guns are perceived - as in not a solution for confrontation or revenge for a fragile ego.

The only way to get there is get them off the streets. Get rid of conceal and carry.

Or give every 5 year old a weapon at school and train them how to shoot center mass at an earlier age.

While it is darkly funny, it's more a condemnation of our gun attitudes, rather than laws.

You would think promoting firearms as safe outdoor leisure (trap/target) or for recreational use (hunting) for healthy, responsible Americans would be their mission to increase membership and awareness.

Not coked-out bleating "(((Their))) comin' fer yer GUNZ!"
No one in this thread seems to be acknowledging the real motivation here. Until the NRA pimped themselves out to the gun manufacturers they were a safety organization, ran classes and espoused responsible gun ownership. Then they figured out it was much more effective/lucrative to promote fear and catastrophic theories. What has been the end result with them changing tune? When I was a kid people took guns for granted when they were a part of their lives (hunting, target shooting) but very few people ignorant of guns would have been racing out to buy one for protection. Now we have a bunch of ignoramuses owning guns because they have to protect themselves and their loved ones from a manufactured boogey man. They have so convinced people this is reality it has become one. Before the biggest death from gun violence was related to accidental (read improperly handled weapons) death. Now?

Somewhat. Not as clear cut as either side makes it out to be.

And which side is that? The "not BANZ ALL THE GUNZ" side? That would be correct. The "need to enforce laws we have (and close loopholes)" side? Also correct. Add 1-2 more big-time limits on who can own a gun? Also correct.

You can own your hunting rifle. Just no semi-autos will be for sale anymore. We're going to purge them from the system. For handguns a revolver will be ok.
