No bad for a scrub goalie who wouldn't see the ice on other DIII teams and a team in general that plays against the lowest level DIII teams all season....

I've heard rumblings that the Western coaches are banding together and will be separating from the NCAA tournament to have their own Western NCAA Tournament to guarantee them a National Title. Each player will also undergo several hours of massaging and be tucked in each night to make sure they get the proper sleep so they are fresh and ready to go with a week in between the Semi Final and Finals. They will also travel first class if they have to travel more than 5 miles. (**** Hamline only had to travel 3, sorry).

Sorry, I lost just about all respect for this coach after the whining. It really diminishes an overall great game/season by Hamline with those comments.

Such a great point. Just went back and watched the postgame presser from the Eau Claire - Hamline game. They don't even acknowledge their opponent, much less make a point about them not having a day off. Compare that to the Eau Claire presser where Coach Strand opens by congratulating Hamline and Darwitz and his only reference to having to play the night after going to triple OT is framed in saying is how proud he is of his squad in how they battled against Hamline.

Lack of energy? That must have been comforting to hear for her 20 players after they skated their butts off for a national championship.

However, the reality is Hamline had 2 or 3 clear breakaways (one being Simon at a minimum) and all couldn't bury the puck. Abbott stood strong. Furthermore, Hamline outshot Plattsburgh 28-27 (had 15 SOGs in the 3rd alone...more than double of Plattsburgh) and had 6 power plays through out the game. They had plenty of chances. Simply put, Plattsburgh made the plays both defensively and offensively to win the game. Nothing more, nothing less.

If it wasn't for that small play up school about 90 minutes West of Plattsburgh, all the women's NC championships would be the property of the WCHA.

Just the known party schools... The 2 teams from the west did for sure.

If being known as a party school is a criterion, Plattsburgh was almost certainly tested too...

And there were three teams from the West. Did you mean the two teams from the MIAC?

Some people handle the aftermath of defeat better than others, and I don't remember that ever being a strength of Darwitz. In general, I'd recommend giving everyone some slack on their comments immediately after losing in the NCAA Tournament. You've worked for months to achieve something, and the dream has ended just minutes before. The last thing anybody wants to do is talk to the media at that moment. It's always impressive when someone is able to recognize the winning team, and keep all of the comments positive. It isn't easy to do while still trying to accept what just happened.

Congratulation to Plattsburgh. Five out of six is an incredible run.

Sarah Hughson, Elmira '18, is the Whale's winner of the 2019 NWHL Foundation Award. The honor is awarded to the player most actively applying the core values of hockey to her community as well as growing and improving hockey culture. In addition to playing for the Whale this season, Hughson is the assistant coach for the girl's varsity hockey team at Choate Rosemary Hall, a prep school in Wallingford, CT.

Easy...same reason at USA nationals there is always a young, inexperienced FEMALE ref in charge of big games....PC BS beats actually being competent these days. Got the picture??

Turns out that little old Williams gave Platty the most competitive came of the NCAA [ya, Endicott, but look at the Box, that was a fluke]. West once again goes down w/o much of a fight.
