It confuses me so many say the Gophers wouldn't be interested, but I wonder why? What is the negative for them? Whatever revenue you lose from not hosting you'll more than offset in residuals from the GREAT PR you're doing for your fans. You all point out, they can't fill the seats in Mariucci. One of the main complaints is a lack of rivalry games against in-state schools. Even if it isn't at Mariucci, it's providing your fans with something they're longing for. You lose revenue from the tourney, but gain it back in more butts in your seats from fans re-engaged in your program."In heaven there is no beer. NO BEER! That's why we drink it here. RIGHT HERE!"

What you're saying make sense, it's just not going to happen with the U involved I'm afraid. I was having a similar discussion with the UND fans after going to the Vegas game. It was so much fun and I'd love to do more destination games, that is UND's new thing apparently. The problem is the U is selfish and greedy and would rather have their team play at home in front of a maybe half full crowd at Mariucci instead of doing something that might promote their program, promote college hockey, and enhance/renew rivalries.
Sad, really."It ain't over, baby! And that took only six seconds!"
