Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

While we don't have an official schedule release on the website, piecing together what we know about NU's schedule from their release and other official schedules out there, this looks to be what the Huskies will be facing this upcoming season.
    October-

    4, 5, or 6 vs Western Ontario

    11-12 at Union

    15 vs UMass

18 or 19 vs Holy Cross

    25-26 at St. Cloud

    November-

1-2 UMass; Home Friday away Saturday

    8-9 Mack

15-16 PC; away on Friday, home Saturday

    22-23 vs. Maine

29-30 Ireland, vs UNH and ECAC opponent

    December-

    7 at BU

    14 vs Dartmouth

    January-

    3 at UConn

    4-10 one game vs Bentley

    11 at UNH

    18 vs UConn

    31 vs PC

    February-

    3 Harvard (Beanpot)

    7 at Maine

    10 Beanpot Part 2

14-15 UML; at Lowell Friday, home Saturday

21-22 BC; home Friday, at BC Saturday

    28-29 at UVM

March 6-7 BU; Friday home, Saturday at BU

Bentley is oddly being played on Monday 1/6 per NU ticket box office. Holy Cross would be Saturday 10/19. They had PC on 1/31 before PC released schedule so it's probably true.

Big changes on the coaching/program staff front: https://www2.nuhuskies.com/news/2019...f-changes.aspx

    • Asst Coach Jason Smith becomes "Hockey Advancement Coordinator"
    • Mike McLaughlin moves up from DOHO to Asst Coach

No description of what duties and responsibilities Smith's new job entails although "advancement" usually relates to fund raising. Also no replacement for McLaughlin in the DOHO job or any indication re whether or not it's being folded into the new Advancement position.

Very happy for Jason & Mike. The will do well.
Jason has always had the right attitude. Mike is very good with the skills & younger kids already.. wishing them both the best in their new roles.

Bentley hosting Canisius on January 10th and 11th, but apparently free the previous weekend?

I'm not sure if Bentley has an away game that weekend yet but NU is at UConn Friday 1/3 so they could've played Saturday 1/4 - must be a schedule issue with a diff sport or Bentley is just simply away.

Struble signed his NLI, making this upcoming season arguably the most talented defensive corps Madigan had assembled since taking over

So when do they replace the unlistenable vomit-inducing Jack Edwards?

Thx NUH.. read that earlier in the week & Madigan announced as well via feed.

    Two very sensible pick ups.

If this is the same Craig Pantano who pitched a shutout vs NU at Matthews last season, the result might well be the best Husky defensive team ever.

And if it is the same Craig Pantano who let in 24% of the shots he faced in the prior game, the result might well be the worst defensive team ever.

Put me down for the actual result falling somewhere in between.

Somewhere in between is a reasonable conclusion. But the defense should be a strong point no matter which Pantano shows up.

    (non NU related)
Glad most of the goonery continues to diminish with each passing season..

CTE or not, this guy has had his share of ups & downs..
