No doubt. All while taking several classes a semester. I couldn't do it.

Having said that, the majority of the hockey dads that I have met are good parents who support their kids in a positive way. That is how they get to play at a higher level. Right on...a good thing to keep in mind, that, in the end...they are student athletes. Thanks for the timely reminder!!!

Mike, enjoyed reading this as usual. Jack looks like he could be a diamond in the rough. With that size he has probably always been assigned, volunteer or chosen to play defense. A year of 2 in the USHL could give us that big presence we have been looking for in front of the net. Thanks for doing this as this provides most of us with the only real info we will have prior to entry and helps give a full picture of just who they areas individuals.

Ah, and here he is! The big strong scorer we have all been waiting for. 2nd round at Waterloo sounds like a solid get for this coaching staff. I love to see this thread appear at the top, means something is happening.

The staff has been getting a noticeably higher quality of kids the past year or year and a half. On top of that they seem to be better at spreading the cash around, as they now have quite a bit of volume, particularly up front as the charts show. I wonder if they have room for a kid like John Evans if he were to show well in the BCHL next year.

In comparison with making the offers to the forwards, they seem a bit slower on D, where they have two spots open for next year. Scott Morrow was one kid to keep an eye out on.

I love it when you put out these lineup possibilities. I do them but struggle, mostly with who gets left off or who gets senior ice. One incoming that you appear to have overlooked is our new friend from NE, Mr. Griffin. i had him penciled in to start on the 4th line and imagine that he will move up after a few games. His presence does force someone out of the starting 12.

Not too surprised or disappointed by this news. Jones' older brother skated for three seasons in Halifax and while Jones put up points (assists) last year, he scored just 4 goals in 50 NCDC games as a 17-18 year old. UNH needs goal scoring. The Jones comparison for me was always Kyle Smith - and even Smith scored 15 goals in 45 games during his 17-18 year old junior hockey season. We all know how Smith's EJHL offensive production translated to UNH...

Richels joins a long-list of UNH prospects with much to prove at higher levels (USHL/BCHL) this season, but to me he appears to be a real upgrade. He scored 35 goals in just 23 games at Blaine HS last season. He certainly has more goal-scoring upside and hopefully that upside continues to show itself in the USHL this coming season...

Jones has more offense to his game than Smith, who was always more of an "effort" kid. While Jones's goal total was low, his assists show he creates offense, and his goal totals improve in his second year. That said, he was an interesting prospect but not irrepelaceable. In fact, I'd say Nick Ring has a similar profile, and the now infamous (from our posts) John Evans is a similar "good hands, vistion, somewhat peripheral game" profile.

Richels is interesting as well, with a different game. He has the size I usually don't like, but is a shooter not a grinder. His skating will determine how well he does - right now its a bit weak, but given the slow pace of HS hockey he has the space and time to use his shot. As you say, his USHL season will tell us more.
