Received the first blast from the hockey office today. Impressed with the size of our recruits, especially the forwards. Good heft up front should help in the corners, and hopefully generate more scoring this season. Maybe we can match Cornell's size and push them around at Lynah?

I admire your optimism ColSkate65, but the game today? Speed...we need it...it's one reason we can't match up against Yale...

Off topic: Tap-a-talk has great posting from Steve of the new scoreboard at the Kerrdome. Really great. Take a look.

Two new assistant coaches, along with Riley as recruiter, are they actually getting serious ?

I was at the freshman student-athlete orientation presentation last week on move-in day (my kid is not in men's hockey btw) and in a very inspirational and direct speech, the AD said that it was a new era in Colgate athletics and that "we are here to win" and expect to win national championships. So this may be a sign of that new focus.

Simon Labelle...2002 birth year, 5'9", 155 pounds..."He's light, quick, and shifty which makes him difficult to defend in open ice an is able to process the game and make decisions with space and doesn't have to slow down in order to make a pass or a juke move. His puck control and stickhandling ability, particularly at full speed, are impressive..." One person's opinion...but he's two years away, will get bigger and stronger...Alex Young (brother of incoming freshman Colton Young, who should be good himself) looks like a really good commit...finally a full staff as well...fall brings some optimism...
