Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019
Wow! I hate to be negative (my rep is that I am an incurable optimist about RPI womens hockey) but 8 goals in 8 games! This team does not have as much speed as previous Engineer teams, but somehow they need to find a way to generate a little bit of offense. May need to focus on crashing the net, getting in or near the blue paint and then being nasty. Risk taking the odd penalty (usually in those situations the defending team gets called) and more than a few bumps and bruises.

Peterson isn’t likely to draw much attention playing for Princeton, which is outside of the metro area and not a traditional power, but she was consistently impressive in the fall Elite League. An excellent skater with decent hands, she scored 30 goals last season, and could improve on that this year. https://www.sbncollegehockey.com/hig...key-watch-listBrandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019
A lot of season left to play, but RPI is off to a decent start, at least as far as the Ws and Ls go. Basically we lost the games we were "supposed" to lose and won the games we "should" win if we want to make the playoffs. Right now we're projecting to be four points clear of the playoff line (and seven points below the home-ice cutoff), so we're in good position moving forward. We will want to, you know, score more goals, but baby steps.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019
The Engineers remain severely challenged in goal production, but after watching both games this weekend I am back to being somewhat optimistic about the season. Granted, it was only Brown and Yale, (and playing at HFH), but the team looked good. Our strength is goaltenders (plural, now, clearly), but there were many other positives. We play a pretty solid game on defence; our breakouts are far better than in previous years (greater use of stretch passes); our PP really moves the puck well (although Brown made them look good with their incredibly passive PK strategy); and Orosz, for one, demonstrated the kind of drive in the offensive zone that should eventually result in more goal production.
