We have 10 recruits expected for 2019, and 4 seniors. One senior is a goalie, so Brett Miller's a definite. Hayhurst COULD turn some pro heads this year, and might be a flight risk. I'm not sure I've seen much to be warranting cuts like we've seen the past couple years. Is Coach Smith trying to overload the deck to see who does and doesn't work out?

I don't think that Hayhurst is likely to leave, but I agree that he could. I think that several of the recruits listed as 2019 either will be deferred or disappear. It is possible that one or two underclassman may be cut. It's probably not a good idea to mention specific names except that Ashbrook and Babichuk have to come this year. since they were born in 1998. if they come at all.

It's just for the weekend, but great to hear.

He is listed here https://www.usahockeyntdp.com/roster...bseason=526408 as uncommitted.

FWIW, MC is listed as playing for Salisbury, as he soon will, and not the North Jersey Avalanche 16U team.

With what someone posted about his brother, with the line chart not showing him committed to RPI, this seems pretty much settled to me. They list the other addition for the weekend as committed, so not like they just forgot.

Too bad, Dave had some good recruits in his first few months, and looks like we won’t get either.

Agreed about DS's recruits. I still intend to follow Matt and Mike until I read something official, like them signing elsewhere. Mike would be a big loss. Matt is also a loss, but not as important.

I’d consider them both losses, an 18 year old kid in the USHL is rarely a bad recruit in my book. He’s not setting the world on fire, but last season he needed about half a year before really producing in the NAHL.

I’ve never seen them play, and judging a kid based on stats isn’t going to lead to much. All in all, I bet we could’ve used Matt on the team in the coming years.

I agree. It just is that Matt is easier to replace than Mike. NZ rates Matt as 3.50 while Mike is 4.00. We do not get many at 4.00 or higher. A natter of fact, he is the only current men's recruit listed as 4.00.

I wouldn't say they were Smith's recruits. I understand there's a re-commitment process and the date is after the power transfer, but it has to be that Appert recruited Matt to get Mike. Same story as the Öhrwalls. And you know what? I'm not disappointed with it. Just because they're ranked highly by a third party doesn't mean they're going to be good for this team. And good team play is something we've desperately needed for the last decade or so.

The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they tweet them with committals.

And good team play is something we've desperately needed for the last decade or so.
.....and now SA has the weekend to “talk” with Mike C. I also have no doubt that either will wind up in Troy though.
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

I think you must have misunderstood me, either that or I wasn't clear. I don't think either will be in Troy. They wanted to play under Appert, not Smith. And if he has the weekend to "talk", you can consider de-commit a done deal.
