I don't think she'll run. It's not the smart move, especially when it comes to the herpaderps.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Politicians that lose the Presidency don't get a second chance. Stevenson only got one because almost no Dems wanted to be trounced by a popular war hero like Eisenhower. Trump is almost literally the exact opposite of Ike.

Did I really read this morning that someone thought Trump was the lesser of two evils?

                https://www.mediaite.com/tv/joe-scar...all-trash-him/

Joe Scarborough tore into President Donald Trump on Monday morning over Mitch McConnell‘s latest fawning proclamations about the dear leader, pointing out that Republican lawmakers “trash” the president privately.

Morning Joe took on the Senate Majority Leader’s comments at a speech before the Faith & Freedom Coalition last week, in which he declared:

“In my view, the last 16 months have been the single best period for conservative values since I came to Washington… back in 1985” McConnell said. “And this is not hyperbole.”

“Let’s go through the litany,” Scarborough said on Monday. “You’ve got the biggest spending bill in the history of America, massive increases in the deficit, the most reckless spending spree in American history, I think, this past year.”

“He talked about conservative values in a faith meeting,” the MSNBC host continued. “Paying off a porn star, getting busted with a Playboy bunny. You could talk about all the racism after post-Charlottesville, defending white supremacists, trying to ban 1.5 billion people from coming into this country based on their faith, based on his campaign promise.”

“Explain to me on what planet has Donald Trump’s presidency been the high-water mark for conservatism?” Scarborough asked the Washington Post‘s Robert Costa.

Costa explained that Republican leadership strains to separate Trump’s conservative successes with the tax plan and court appointees from his more objectionable character traits and policies.

“I guess what also is so maddening is that they are scared to death to say anything negative about Donald Trump publicly, but privately they all trash him,” Scarborough noted.

“And Mitch McConnell, the audacity to say that in front of this faith and freedom group when Mitch McConnell doesn’t believe that,” he said. “Nobody on Capitol Hill thinks he believes that. Again, the cowardice shown across the Hill from Republicans is really, pretty staggering.”

“By the way, to our friends at this faith workshop this weekend, what do you think about Hispanics being called breeders, Mexicans being called [rapists]?” Scarborough asked. The most un-Christ like behavior in the White House.
                https://www.courier-journal.com/stor...ion/684282002/

Where are you, Sen. Mitch McConnell?

                Kentucky needs you.

What the Courier Journal warned about nearly a year ago is happening today: Bourbon is in the cross-hairs of an international trade battle, and the consequences could be dire for metro Louisville and the rest of the Bluegrass State.
It appears Mitch has abandoned Kentucky. We all knew that years ago. Maybe their voters will figure it out. But, based on what's been posted this morning and over the weekend, I doubt it.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a tweet yet this morning responding to De Niro.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

He's fairly central ideologically and I was hoping he could bridge the gap between the two parties. He has been an absolute disaster as president though. Why he is trying to upset our allies is beyond me and some of the other garbage he is doing is beyond me.
I have certain people on "ignore" but everyone quotes everyone else so that feature is often defeated. But this post is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen and one of the prime examples of why the feature exists. This is such revisionist tripe and Drew should be ashamed of the role he and others like him are playing in the downfall of America. Even people who supported trump talked about the coming "pivot" when he was going to take office, or did you forget about that? Every single person with more than 7 functioning brain cells knew exactly what trump was about within about 24 hours of the announcement of his candidacy. There has not been a single outrageous action or statement from trump in the last 500 days that a half a dozen people on this forum alone didn't predict. People who voted for him knew exactly why they were voting for him, and if they were just rubes and dupes then they need to admit as much and ask for some remedial Civics 101 so they can perhaps make a more informed vote this November.

If people like Drew really do see the error of their ways I have a suggestion for making amends. Vow to register in time for the November elections and come hell or high water vow to make it to the polls and vote a straight democratic ticket. No I do not believe every democratic candidate out there is perfect or even totally qualified. But America needs competing ideas and ideologies. The problem is right now, the republican party is not the answer. Unless the question is "which major American political party is full of treasonous ********?" Today's republican party needs wiped off the face of the Earth. Vote a democratic ticket for a couple of years and they will be chastened enough to learn a needed lesson. And if the democrats don't put us on a path that truly lives up to the ideals of our best leaders, punish them too, until we get politicians who deserve the public trust of being elected.

I said in my post when he announced I wasn’t a fan. I honestly have never had much interest in Trump or paid any attention to him. My impression of him was that he was a phony who didn’t have much money. I saw Hillary as four more years of Bush/Obama which I was quite sure I didn’t want. I didn’t pay a lot of attention during the election as I knew I wasn’t going to vote and if I did it wasn’t going to matter in such an extreme state like Mass.

I’m an eternal optimist who hoped for the best with Trump and obviously it hasn’t worked out. Hopefully he will be a catalyst for better things down the road. I’ve posted numerous times about our challenges and hopefully in the post trump world we can start to take them on.

A balanced budget, reasonable approach to China, and less soldiers in the Middle East.
