Good morning Lodge. Here in the Surgery Center with the folks, waiting for them to call my mom in. If you could spare a few good thoughts this morning, I’d appreciate it.

"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." George Orwell, 1984
"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir
"Good news! We have a delivery." Professor Farnsworth
Carpenter and painter here to deal with what the other carpenter did (messy work). As they were going to put in the new baseboards they found mold in the wall board. CHopped it out. Nowthey have to mud it, paint it and then put new baseboards in. Can't paint down there now. Sigh. Until that furniture is painted (all stained with mildew residue) we can't put things back in. Sigh. 2 steps forward. One step back.
Home from the hospital. Surgery went “fabulous “, according to the doctor. Went in to see her, she was already up and walking, heading to the bathroom. The nurse was like, “we’re amazed!” She got back to the post op room and was already dressed. We’re chatting, she notices a lead (?) still stuck to her chest. She peels it off, gets up to throw it away. I yelled at her “what are you doing??” She sits back down, then bends over to fix her sandal, which, since she just had her hernia fixed, she probably shouldn’t have done, and i yelled again! Then all of sudden she starts feeling some pain. My mom has a pretty high tolerance for pain, so for her to admit she was in pain, she probably was. The nurse brought in a recliner chair, then gave her a Vicodin. She relaxed for about an hour and felt better.
She’s asleep now in the recliner here at their place. My SIL is getting her prescription filled. She’s probably going to be sore for the next 24-48 hours, but doctor said she could get up and walk around tomorrow, take a shower, etc. We were talking about getting food for dinner, my SIL will be here. We were talking about this grilled chicken with salad dinner that we get at a local place and how there’s so much food and she says “I can cut up a small salad.” I said “YOU’LL DO NO SUCH THING!” Hoping she’ll sleep most of today and tonight.
Short but fun day on the seadoo on its maiden voyage today. Went out on Tampa Bay a little, started getting some dark clouds and thunderstorms a little too much for my liking, so I cut it an hour or two shorter than I wanted. This is gonna be a fun toy to have in the garage.

Garage? Don't you live in Tampa? It should see very little garage time when you're home. Obviously it shouldn't sit in seawater when you're away.
