    Out loud.

    On camera.

This isn't just a Methodist issue. This is happening across all religions. This is tough to listen through, men (and women) of grace belittling their pastors in the perverted name of God.
Wow. We had a couple of women Pastors in the past and have one now. We had people who left (usually men or couples where the men were not happy about it). We had men refuse to take Communion from them, someone told the Pastor she shouldn't wear the various stoles because she sweat too much...

No. I think it was more they were still stuck in the Missouri Synod idea of women. When we had a male Pastor they could swallow the other stuff but that was the last straw. The Missouri Synod churches around here don't let women do anything in leadership. They aren't even allowed to teach Sunday School to boys 12 and over.

Can you imagine what the "I hate Francis" types are going to be like when the Catholics finally recognize women as equal human beings and clerics? The wahmbulance will be running 24/7 for them.

Oh, I mean in another 400 years. These guys only stopped calling the Jews Satanic in the 1960s. Give them enough time to clean 1600 years' worth of splooge off the paintings of little boys in the Vatican archives. You know, "maintenance."

There's one of them (that we know of) on this board. Ask him.

He'll comment if he wishes. Presumably we will hear a Muscular Christianity quote from Chesterton about how it takes a brave man to maintain misogyny in this backsliding culture of respect for women. Or, better, that true respect for women is protecting them from agency and self-determination.

That will never happen in the lifetime of anyone currently alive, including those born on this very day. Besides which, by then the Boomers who remember and still pine for the pre-Vatican II Church will be long cold and six feet under.

Not the pre V2 Church, but the pre V2 Mass. There's a difference.

I pine for the pre-V2 mass. That doesn't give me a chubby for the SSPX.

Try FSSP or ICRSS. They are (currently) in full communion with Rome.

But, you're in the Arlington Diocese which has a TON of TLMs. Check out the list here:

And if you're really ecumenical, find and Ordnariate of the Chair of St. Peter church. There's one in Baltimore and one in DC.

Who cares what they think? Catholicism is slowly dying in most of Europe and America, and the leadership consisting of 98% ancient white dudes have no one but themselves to blame. The molestation crisis was of their own making. Their obstinate, dangerous zero tolerance stance on preventative birth control is of no interest to any woman of child-bearing age who didn't have Margaret White for a mother, and is causing huge problems in places like Africa. Their cold and ham-handed treatment of LGBT+ folks is a complete nonstarter for a majority of people under the age of 40. All of that is just the tip of the iceberg.
