Re: 2018-19 Penn State Nittany Lions

With 13 teams still to post a schedule for 2018-19, and after the 16 remaining CHA games are added to the Penn State schedule somewhere, there's only one (maybe two) open weekend series left available against a non-CHA opponent.

The non-CHA teams Penn State for sure won't play are St. Lawrence, Yale, Harvard, Quinnipiac, Brown, UConn, and Northeastern, and they won't play any WCHA teams in 2018-19.

Minus those 16 remaining CHA games that will be in here somewhere, this is what's set so far for 2018-19 (and yes, I know I'm obsessing, but I'm bored):

Sep. 28-29 vs Colgate (at Colgate)
Oct. 5-6 vs Merrimack (at Penn State)
Oct. 12-13 vs Union (at Union)
Nov. 3-4 vs Syracuse (at Penn State)
Nov. 16-17 vs RPI (at RPI)
Nov. 20-21 vs RIT (at Penn State)
Jan. 25-26 vs Syracuse (at Syracuse)
Jan. 29 vs Princeton (at Princeton)
Feb. 22-23 vs RIT (at RIT)

Still no sign of Clarkson's Jenna Brenneman on the 2018-19 Penn State roster, and no 2018-19 schedule yet, either. On the academic side, Penn State had five players named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for 2017-18, and junior Katie McMillan (Minnetonka, MN/Business Administration) was one of 13 Penn State student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Maybe they are very smart because they were "All set to commit to Princeton" at one point then changed their mindshttp://board.uscho.com/images/icons/icon12.png

Love the Academic side of it, major Kudos. Maybe it's because those particular athlete's "were all set to commit to Princeton" before they decided on Penn State. What do you think Oggie?

Re: 2018-19 Penn State Nittany Lions

Down to five Hockey East teams (BC, BU, Holy Cross, UNH, and Providence) still to post a 2018-19 schedule, and Lindenwood in the CHA to do the same. This is what the schedule looks like right now - four Lindenwood games will be added somewhere, for a total of 30 games, so there will also probably be two additional weekend series with the remaining Hockey East teams:

Sep. 28-29 vs Colgate (at Colgate)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Oct. 5-6 vs Merrimack (at Penn State)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Oct. 12-13 vs Union (at Union)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Oct. 26-27 vs Mercyhurst (at Mercyhurst)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Nov. 3-4 vs Syracuse (at Penn State)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Nov. 16-17 vs RPI (at RPI)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Nov. 20-21 vs RIT (at Penn State)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Nov. 30-Dec.1 vs Robert Morris (at Robert Morris)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Jan. 8 vs Cornell (at Penn State)
            --------------------------------------------------------
Jan. 25-26 vs Syracuse (at Syracuse)

I don't know anything about Lindenwood except that we get two weekend series (four games) with them in a season.

Me either, but I know Lindenwood played 30 last year (not counting the exhibiton), but played 34 the two years before that. is the 30 game limit new? RIT is a D3 school but plays the full 34 games...

Also, it hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet, but RIT's head coach Scott McDonald left the team, so it will be interesting to see how that affects the upcoming season. http://ritathletics.com/news/2018/7/...key-coach.aspx

Although TBH that thread drifted a little, so you could be excused for not noticing that McDonald was out.

IIRC, RIT got in before 2010-100 passed.

I know that, I was talking specifically about *this* thread though, which began by talking about thoughts about the other CHA teams next season. And that's a big move that will affect how RIT does this year.

Could you clarify - is 2010-100 a rule that got changed? I can't find anything on a quick google search. It seems like 2010 is a year, and RIT Men were playing up before then, but the women were not. So it could be a Title IX thing too?

Edit - I looked at the NCAA Div II manual, and it looks like 34 games are allowed. source: http://www.ncaapublications.com/prod...loads/D218.pdf

2010-100 was a legislative proposal that killed future playups but allowed a sport in the other sex to venture into the deep end if the other sex was already in D1 prior to the enactment of the legislation
