  • Yale Hockey 2018 Off Season

Sad but true. Yale will be losing Hitchcock, Larkin, Biacco, H. Hart and also Repensky's spot in the lineup. That said, Yale will most likely be bringing in two defense and three forwards. There is a pretty good core returning with Snively and the Smith Brothers leading the offense with Kemp and Curti leading the defense. Heisenbergs recruit list for Yale is confusing at best. Congrats to the seniors and good luck in the future.

A reliable source has these five recruits at the top of his list for next season. Lillibridge, St. Ivany, Curtis Hall, Kyle Johnson and Justin Pearson.

Those 3 are very good recruits. Hall will be a true freshman next year and a potential 2nd-3rd round pick. Lillibridge is a smaller offensive skilled DMan. St. Ivany is also pretty good as well.

If those additions are able to transition quickly to the NCAA level the team will be substantially better. A second big offensive weapon (Hall) supported by puck moving D will be a great help. I hope that Hall is able to get low on the PP... and maybe use Stevens more in that same way.

Despite flaws in the team this year, they would have been much more competitive if they could score on the PP. If they approach the mean % next year they will contend for an NCAA spot.

I would Walsh on D ahead of both Curti and Kemp as far as all around D!

He kind of flies under the radar, but is and will be a solid experienced contributor next year. The defensive lapses at the beginning and end of this season do need to be addressed though. They also have issues with a couple of the DMen being penalty prone, this drags the whole team down. The lack of a net front presence on offense and the inability to clear out larger forwards from their own end wall will also need to be addressed.

Great for Ryan! Also, Alex Lyon in goal for the Flyers this evening.

Lyon played really well last night.

                    B's goals as follows.

                    - A scrum after a ridiculous giveaway in Philly end & a few absolutely sprawling saves by Lyon.
                    - A breakaway.
                    - The game winner where puck trickled along the goal line after Lyon made initial save & Marchand just flung his stick across the crease.

Rask quoted as saying "Even I could have scored on that one."

Kid's coming off 2 good wins vs. NYR & MTL after starting out a little shaky (not unexpected). 2-1, 6GA, .975 save pct, 2.00 GAA in last 3.

Mrazek hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire. Maybe Hakstol will make the switch to Lyon come playoff time.

                    We'll see.

Here's an article on John Hayden from Chicago Tribune a couple of days ago - could be Hawks last call up this year.

Nice to see Hayden score with that quick release against the Bruins in a losing cause. Also 03/09/2018 3:42 PM -
Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced today that they have signed defenseman Adam Larkin to an amateur tryout.

Confirmed by New Haven Register yesterday.

Lillibridge, listed at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds, plays for the Chicago Steel and leads the USHL with 36 assists. St. Ivany, an NHL prospect at 6-3 and 200, has 27 assists and 33 points.

Forwards Curtis Hall (Youngstown, USHL), Justin Pearson (Islanders HC, United States Premier League) and Kyle Johnson (Prince George, BCHL) should also contribute offense to Yale.
