Neutral Zone rated her a 3.75 / 5. So she is of the higher rated variety given the rating of previous Maine recruits.
She is described as good size, powerful shot from the point, has good awareness, knows when to d2d and when to go glass, great power play qb and great penalty kill. I didn't read much negative, just that she needs to work on foot quickness in getting going, but has a powerful stride once she does. She was rated 8th in Ontario for her age group by NZ. Multiple reports emphasize her size, strength, and powerful point shot and presence. So looks like Maine has a great future blueliner lined up.
Also, looks like her sister plays for Concordia University of Canadian college league(USports).
I might as well make some posts for some of the other recruits that we know about and have info on. I think I will not bother with the current freshman that are here as they will soon be playing, and the coaching staff already described them here:
Clair Coffman(19/20 incoming), Right shot forward, Chicago Young Americans U19. She is a 3.75 / 5 according to Nuetral Zone. She is described as small but plays strong for her size, is explosive, maintains the puck possession at high speed/high pressure and makes plays, plays with head up on swivel looking for ways to get the puck to the front of the net. https://www.eliteprospects.com/playe...claire-coffman
Morgan Sadler(20/21 incoming), Right shot forward, Good size and strong in front of the net, strong on faceoffs and special teams. NZ ranked her 32nd in Ontario for her class and also a 3.5 / 5. http://d15k3om16n459i.cloudfront.net...seasonid=16752
Jorden Mattison(20/21), Goalie, Etbicoke(PWHL Intermediate AA), Fenwick, Ontario, There is no scouting report for her. Just a 3.25 / 5 rating. It is hard to find much info on her. She is playing in a good league it seems in the intermediate AA league. Only thing that seems like a problem is there are two teammates that are UNHers, so she'll face a lot of breakaways when they are taking a shift in front of her. https://d15k3om16n459i.cloudfront.ne...seasonid=17219 http://etobicokejuniordolphins.point...olphins/roster
Ella Maclean(19/20), Antigonish, NS, Left shot defensemen, She was ranked 81st for north American players by neutral zone and a 3.75 / 5. She made the Atlantic squad and played in national U18 championships. She has size and smooth skating, is a good puck lugger, and makes moves at the point to generate scoring chances. http://www.hockeynovascotia.ca/hns_12370_53443.html
Gabrielle Plourde(21/22), ST-CYRILLE-DE-WENDOVER, QUE, Right shot winger, only found one article were they discuss her being selected to represent Quebec at the U18 championships, so must be very good. http://www.journalexpress.ca/sports/...-fleur-de-lys/
I was able to watch the replay. I realize the UNB team is a step or two below. But if I compare the freshmen to others on the Maine team it is very encouraging. Not a shot against other upperclassmen, but more of a compliment to the freshmen class. Tedenby looked fantastic. She had 2 goals and 2 assists. And the scary thing she could have had more points. Beltz was also fantastic and showed great stick handling. Imagine both these freshman play on the top power play unit. Johnson played aggressive power forward role where she used he skating to get into position to receive passes and get pucks on net. She also battles well in tight to the net. Miljones was all over the ice and constantly pressured to gain possesion of the puck. Press reminded me of Matteau with he point pressence. On her goal I thought it was Matteau until the announcers said it was Press. All of the freshmen looked great. We will have to wait and see what the line up is next week, but it wouldn't surprise me if all of the freshman are on the ice.
Ashley Bialas(incoming 2022), right shot forward, Chicago Mission U16, a 3.75/5 rating from Nuetral Zone, described as fast skating, quick release, goes to the net well, good puck carrier.
