I wonder if Family of Secrets will climb the book charts again. That’s one hell of an eye opener of a book.

    ...too soon?

Saint Ronnie didn't have much of a memory of his second term, either. Especially when the Iran-Contra hearings started.

Mentioned many times, but the SNL skit of RR doing it all was the last good thing they ever did

I can remember Eisenhower running against Stevenson (?sp). My parents were aghast when I started parroting “I like Ike”.

I was 1 in 56. Don't remember 60, though 63 is seared in the memory. 64 is a dim memory, 68 and beyond they became significant events.

I was born 9 months after Eisenhower's first term began but while living in Kansas, I do remember Kennedy/Nixon what with my father being born and raised in Boston.

Watching President Bush arrive at the Rotunda. Wasn't always a fan of his politics but after the last few yrs I have a much deeper appreciation of what he brought to the table.

Agreed. Dignity, though what his campaign did with Willie Horton was shameful.

    On his birthday. Sad.

A bleak as it is to say, at least he made it to 60.
