Somehow the IIHF got (going into the day) 1 v 2 match-ups in both groups tomorrow: SWE v RUS; USA v FIN
SUI v FRA and SLO v BEL
SUI get the win and they advance; if they lose and SLO wins the SUI finish short of the quarters.
In the other group it's the host DEN v LAT for the last slot in the quarters.

It's more amazing that the Rapidly Flushing Toilet finally won the WHL. (For non-cognoscenti, Swift Current is a traditionally excellent team that always chokes in the playoffs. Sort of a Washington Capitals of the CHL. I hate them because of the 3 times they've managed to not actually choke away the title it's been against the Winter Hawks.)Originally posted by joecct View Post
