Someone forgot to tell Yale that we beat North Dakota and that Yale was expected to show up and bow down and kiss our *** ... rather than kicking our ***. WE dropped from 18th to 25th in the pairwise. So much for top 20 ranking.

2 things about the Yale game:
      - practice last week was clearly focused on passing
      - we scored three time even though we played for only about 15 minutes, in one or two minutes spurts throughout the game. Not bad.

Impressed but the Yale team. Not sure what their record really is about... they never quit and play hard, have decent passing and are able to put pucks on net.
      Let's go Union !

Very classy move. Sportsmanship that you don't see very often. Liked to see it.
The real "Class Act" IMO is North Dakota, your players, coaches, announcers, fans, media, barn, cheerleaders, etc. You are the benchmark for excellence in College Hockey especially now that NCHC is the dominent conference.

Losing to Yale after the power play advantages is a toughy. Those are the games that you wish you had taken if the end of the season is its typical horse race finish. But "if" is one of the dirtiest words in the English language. There still a lot of hockey to play. The Union faithful can remain optimistic.

Tape to tape passes still seem to be few and far between for this team.. and many of those aren't received cleanly, or they might have won this game.
if passing was the focus surely they would have figured out to pass thru the middle and not try to pass through
2 or 3 Yale players trying to force it out up the boards.

Tough loss but most assuredly a self inflicted one.

brown let them set up and they scored 0,
Yale pressured them and they scored 0

They are trying to force the play instead of moving the puck quickly and making the defense work.
Where is the back door man? where is the rotation when the point man moves up?
They take alot of time getting in the zone and then don't move it fast enough to get the open shot..
They think they have 2 PP units but actually don't seem to have 1 good one..
#1 PP unit should have all your guns on it
look at last years vech, foo, Vid, Supinski and a hard shooting d man - best guys from the top 2 lines
all together, moving constantly and very effective.

Last year we lost to Holy Cross in Worcester 6-4. We had some bad games last year but this was one of our worse. In the past 10 years, we have played and lost to Holy Cross once. Lifetime we are 1-3 with the last win at Archilles in 2005. Last year Vidmar scored twice and Rinaldi and Foo added scores.
The game was tied 2-2 going into the third. We stopped playing hockey and Holy Cross scored four times in the 4th. Krupski was in goal. In period 3 he stopped 7 and let 4 get by. We came to life late in the third after the damage had been done and scored two. Holy Cross has defeated Army, Airforce, Bently and Darmouth.

Last year we lost to UND at home -- this year -- completely opposite..
Looking to last year is meaningless - the team is so very different.. there is just no correlation.

Suffice it to say - IF the team shows up ready to play - they can stay with everybody and beat most of them

Let's make sure we play our normal game, simple passes, simple shots, simple skating. I don't want to see some overengineered and overdesigned "thing" last we played against Yale.

I feel bad for the fans, the season ticket holders, the members of the Blades, the local town folks who occupied most of the seats last weekend because the school was out on break. Schenectady is a working class town and these fans are loyal. They pay good money to sit in crappy seats and battle to get into the mens urinal. They often travel and surprise many that a small school like Union can muster such support. Win or lose those fans deserved a team that gives 100% effort for 60 minutes. We didn't do that against Yale. We have to go back to being the working class team where we don't stand around waiting for someone else to do something. That was a pretty pathetic performance.

Its payback time for Holy Cross and Massachusetts. Then comes a long break of almost 3 weeks.

                                Holy Cross Blocked 27 shots
Both of these looked like the highest season totals for these two teams.
