    Re: Making a Murderer updates

Just finished the whole shebang. Wow. I know I could go and look for even more current updates, but can anyone save me some time and say if that's it or not? It sounds like it is, but we've all seen weirder things happen.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Pretty sure it is for now. I believe the show ended in May so more to come I would assume.

    @tmanitowoc on Twitter

He posts snapshots of filings and caso, doj and manitowoc reports from the case.

Evidently Zellner files Dec 20 and between now and then expects results from luminol and other tests of dasseys garage for TH blood etc

    EDIT: @zellnerlaw as well😀

From a general viewpoint, it's a fascinating look into all the legal processes of our judicial system. No matter what side of the fence you are on, unless you are a legal scholar, you learned from this series. Top notch in its detail.

I think the biggest take away is the crap that AEDPA created in the ability of federal courts to overturn state rulings...

The emergency motions and such really opened my eyes. Not only can you file a petition, you can file another "emergency" petition on top of that. It's like double-secret probation type stuff. Forgive me for my ignorance here, but isn't one petition (with possible future amendments, not saying another separate petition) enough?

The gf/fiancťe in episode 4... yeesh. I guess I shouldíve seen it earlier, but I thought she was legitimate right until the random line before she goes to see him in jail about ďand I knew if I became his girlfriend, I would be on this documentary.Ē Talk about showing your true colors.

Yeah, no. My public defender wife would smack you if you were her client and did something that stupid.

I took a class on post conviction relief in law school. AEDPA is meant to protect the process, not the individual. It's Congress' reaction to death penalty consists filing stuff non-stop.

Yeah but the problem was they applied the same standard to every case not just death penalty cases which is why it is awful.

I am all for protecting the process and not delaying the execution (even if I am against the Death Penalty) but not any other way it is applied. It isn't protecting the process it is protecting the conviction.

I knew it was a reaction to the endless filings; it just seems like it didn't really kill any paperwork, though. If you want to amend your original filing, boom, go for it.

    Re: Making a Murderer updates

    quick thoughts

    - Wisconsin will never concede even though it appears LE in other states are beginning to take notice and ask ***? Itís incredible to witness this as a resident. Andy Colburn hired a PR firm a few years back to refute MAM...I guess talk radio blowhard Dan OíDonnel is part of that.
    - you canít defeat science so something has to give, with so much science/forensics and sworn statements on her side and judge Sutkiewicz acknowledging maybe 30% of the filings, will the luminol tests be the break in the dam or will Schimel and the courts just ignore or Deny that as well?
    - anyone know if the FBI can investigate Bobby now based on Zellnerís discovery of the cd?

If they are out of ways to appeal/number of times to appeal, it could be over with.

The cd....I suppose it depends on if the images were of people underage. If they are 18+, and pics were photoshopped, had consenting adults in the torture porn biz, or were acquired from legit news sources/Freedom Of Information Act (public records), that may be a different story.

The killer to me is the explanation of the Colburn phone call about the license plate.

I dont think it is ever over with as long as they have tests to run or evidence to gather. They cant appeal more in Federal Court (unless the SC changes their mind) but they can file motions in Wisconsin State Court based on anything new they see or find.

As for the CD I dont know if just having that on your computer is enough...especially since multiple people had access to the computer.

There are LE from other states contacting Zellner and cheering her on. Wisconsin DOJ is a joke.

I canít wait to see Colburn, Lenk, Kratz et all behind bars.

    Re: Making a Murderer updates

Watched episode 6 last night. Seriously, what is wrong with Kratz? If you are confident in the work you did, you don't need to hold a presser years later, after you've retired, stating your work should hold up in an appeals case.
I find it as pathetic as holding a rally every week after you've already won the presidency. Please, someone stroke my ego, because I'm an insecure pr!k and can't believe what I've gotten away with.
