Do I think the program is better poised to have success in the future with Joe instead of Marv? Yes

And finally, am I mad that Marv left? Absolutely not.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

Being second-worst nationally in your points margin while still being 8th overall over five years is a really neat trick.

I wonder if RPI was #60 last year. We certainly sucked more than you did, as did SLU.

16-8-4 isn't so terrible. There must have been dozens of teams with worse records. I haven't reviewed the methodology here in a while - I'm genuinely curious how this could be considered the 2nd worst performance in the entire NCAA.
If you don't change the world today, how can it be any better tomorrow?

Just the second worst point change from last season...not necessarily the second worst performance in the country. It's also possible that I mis-entered the data in a previous season that was not caught until this season (or, that I mis-entered the data this season, which will be caught next season). I really prefer the longer trends (5-year, and next year I will be able to start doing a 10-year trend) to show how a program ranks over a period of time...but I include the one-year change for people who like to see the more immediate impacts of a season.

Also, teams that have more points are more susceptible to larger negative seasons. For example, if both Denver and Arizona State went 0-36, DU would lose a lot more points than the Sun Devils.

Notre Dame has the greatest potential for moving up, IMO.

SLU was #60 and QU #59, and I thought that it was impossible to do worse than RPI last year. I wonder if the ECAC swept the bottom 3.

*There was a data entry correction following the 2014-2015 season for RPI (I believe I had transposed their NCAA Tournament win-loss-tie record) that resulted in about a 3-4 point loss. The Engineers are still probably down a bit over the past 5 seasons, but more likely along the lines of a -1 to -1.5...which would still probably put them in the bottom 2-3 in the country.

As usual, I am confused. RPI's historic NCAA Tournament record is in the red, so if you transpose it, I would expect them to get more, not fewer points.
