Scotland wants to join the Scandinavian countries for common culture. Northern Ireland would obviously go with Ireland. Wales votes Leave and so is comfortable sticking with England.

If Scotland does leave, does St. Andrew's Cross come out of the Union Jack?

I assume so. The Union Jack is terrible anyway, and the individual countries' flags are awesome. I mean come the f-ck on, you can't beat this.

Whoa, sh-t, do NOT google "St. Andrew's Cross."

I'm reminded by the British paper the day after W got reelected with "How are 59,000,000 people so dumb?" and would like to ask how it's going

A bucket of warm spit is now trading stronger vs the US dollar than the British pound.

A Manchester MP who led the Leave movement says they want to remain friendly with the EU. Angela Merkel response: FOAD.

Another leader of the Leave movement says now is a time for quiet reflection. No, the time for quiet reflection was before the vote. Now is a time reminiscent of downtown Faber during the parade...

The sporting implications on this will be interesting as well. The Premier League relies a lot on foreign players, especially EU ones, that are signed to big money contracts with money from their TV contracts. If the Pound tanks, the economy goes south, and the money dries up the PL, and the game in England as a whole, could be in a heap of trouble.

How does that compare with the CA/US monies in the NHL?

It's different. The Premier League has leveraged money from their two large domestic TV contracts into signing foreign players to boost the money gained from international TV contracts. Right now it's very easy for international players to play in the PL because of EU laws and freedom of movement, have passport for an EU country and you're in. If they pull out of the EU then all foreign players would be subject to the very strict Work Permits that non-EU players are subject to. If the PL has to rely on largely domestic players then international TV value goes down as with a likely dip in the quality of play (likely affecting TV money even more).

But it would be similar to the NHL as the Premier League tv deals are likely in Pounds similar to how the Canadian TV deal was in Canadian dollars.
