The blowback on the soccer end of things will be hilarious as tens of players will be suddenly be unable to play due to not having a work permit. Clubs around Europe will be salivating at the prospect of cheap transfers.

Thought the EPL was already working on an end run? Presumably they have more money than the Crown.

But really the UK doesn't belong in Europe. It's an American forward deployment base, like Israel. Admit the US to the Commonwealth, let Liz be the figurehead and the US (after we depose the shartcannon) run the show. Anglosphere Uber Alles.

If there’s no deal in place by the time they leave the EU then the PL has no end around to help. They still have to follow British laws, it’s just the PL has been abusing EU worker rules to their benefit for over a decade.

Hard to see how she doesn't last until the end of her term. She survived the Tory attempt to unseat her, she survived the overall vote of no confidence, no one in her party wants her job, she's not foolish enough to call for an early general election again and she isn't going to resign. She's it.

She’s got time to PO the 10 votes, whether from the DUP or within the Conservative Party, that saved her this time. Frankly, there’s no conceivable way to a Brexit deal that people will be even begrudgenly happy with that won’t destroy her coalition.

I would think the right political move would be to not be the government when this meteor hits. Can a government vote to collapse, and can the opposition vote to stop them?

While I know almost nothing about the EPL, I have to think they'll be able to get work permits for soccer players fairly easily, wouldn't they? Same with British players playing in other European leagues.
