Yale has been kind to us lately, lets hope they continue to be generous.
Seriously, we have played very well against them recently and we could really use a win tonight.
Lets go out and take one.

        lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trivia question. When was the last time a defending national champion played against RPI at HFH? Besides tonight, of course. Obviously Harvard in 1990 would be the last ECAC team, but was there any non conference NCAA champion in the past 20+ years who came here?

BU in 2010? RPI won that one convincingly, too!

                EDIT: Nevermind, wrong year.

RPI beat BU at home in 1978, but at that time BU was in the ECAC. My searching through Kurt's site suggests that we have never played a non-conference defending national champion at home.

North Dakota won the NCAA tourney in 1959 in Troy and they played us in our tourney the following season.

I'll be catching the first 30 minutes or so... the wifey-poo wants to watch the Olympics opening ceremony on the big screen, but until then... Let's Go RED!
Let's give a cheer for old Rensselaer... You bring the whiskey, I'll bring the beer!
