The MCHA already has a post-season trophy - the Harris Cup.

I don't know if there is an "owner" in the same way that Michigan Tech is the 'keeper' of the MacNaughton Trophy, which IIRC, went with Tech to the CCHA for those years MTU had left the WCHA.

Maybe this year's winner will just get to keep it.

The Peters Cup was was originally donated to the NCHA by the Green Knights Center Ice Club, a booster group of St Norbert College hockey, in 1998. I would thing St Norbert should get the cup back. Have they not also won the most Peter Cups since 1998. see attached link

          True, but seems odd that:

          1) the MCHA teams - none of whom have a connection to Peters - would want to replace the Harris Cup with Peters Cup, just because SNC is joining the band.

          2) that the WIAC would use it either

Maybe Peters becomes the MCHA regular season trophy, if SNC really is the "keeper." Not sure that donating it makes it Snc's to control.

Or, the trophy could become the talisman for the women's NCHA playoffs, since (apparently) there will continue to a women's NCHA

The women's trophy, I think, is the O'Brien Cup. But could become regular season trophy for the women...

Yep. I vaguely remember drinking out of that one a couple years ago.

Anybody with any predictions? I'm thinking the favorites all win in the first round. I see an upset brewing for the 2nd round but it doesn't pay much to talk about it until the pairings are set.

Re: One last dance: The final Peters Cup Playoffs

After watching that Stout win at CCC, I'm tempted to say SNC advances with a win and a tie. A SNC sweep won't surprise me, but I think Stout could have a tie in them. They gave SNC fits that night.

UWSP has been playing well of late, correct? I'll take them. And the Saints. All the favs... and I'll assume UWEC won't forfeit or do something stupid...

An upset still wouldn't suprise me this round. Unfortunately Point shifted where it could take place and I'm concerned.

Anybody talking about this at all? Any predictions here?

I'm not seeing an upset up at Hobbs. I'm thinking Eau Claire by 3 goals something like 4-1.

The other game scares me. SNC just hasn't been playing great lately. They've been having to plug some holes in the lineup and doing enough to get by in most games recently but that's about it. They've had some chances to put teams away and haven't done it. Scholastica looks better than their record and they really took it to SNC several weeks back. Any kind of SNC win here will make me very happy Saturday night.

I see the Blugolds winning with goals to spare vs River.
In the SNC/CSS game, we will know more at the end of the first period. If SNC gets ahead, they likely will control the rest of the game.
On the other hand, if CSS strikes first, they could be hard to catch. I would expect a one goal outcome in this one.
Heard that 1700 tickets had been sold by early this week for the EC-River game....Hobbs will be rocking on Sat nite...not so sure about the CCC...
