Weekend Preview: Maine Black Bears
I went to both games against Q last year and I thought they were one of the better teams I saw at the Alfond all year. Good discipline, good coaching, players stayed patient and played their system. You had a good playoff showing but ran into Duluth.
Sadly, I expect Maine to get swept.
My hope is that Maine can play a pair of good, close games, even though I don't expect them to win either of them. I really just dont want to see them get their sh-t kicked in two straight games. Sadly, my gut feeling tells me Maine will get their sh-t kicked in two straight nights.
The game is on ESPN+
I was just perusing the media guide while waiting for the audio to load...nice to see it still has the contact information from 2017.
1-0 Maine after the first. Shots 10-5 for Maine, attempted shots 16-7 for Maine. Faceoffs even 9-9. Sounds like a really solid period.
2-0 Maine. Tralmaks with his second of the night.
Two minutes gone in the second period.
10:54 to play in the second.
Quinnipiac hits the crossbar on a shorthanded bid, then seconds later Doherty scores the PPG to give Maine a 3-2 lead. The play is under review.
The goal was called good after review, then the officials met again and the play is back under review.
And finally the goal is confirmed. 3-2 Maine.
